Eddie Taylor was a great slide guitarist. Which most people's have Zero knowledge of. Nor appreciation of his skills in that genre. I knew Eddie Taylor from, my childhood on up. He was patient, He was kind. I am eternally grateful, that we were close friends.

The greatest electric blues guitarist of all time!

Thank you to the Japanese Blues Afficianados who produced this brilliant doco; Eddy Taylor is, in my very humble opinion, the finest 'old school' country-blues picker ever. He had a great start in musical life - he was largely raised by his mums best friend, Memphis Minnie; ... the greatest female blues guitarist of all time, & at least the equal of the best of the males as well. If you like Eddy Taylor, do yourself a favour & watch - the sadly too few - youtube clips of MM.
Kakoi, Jozu! Domo Arregato, Thank You For Sharing Super Black Blues Rare Video, Please Don't Take down this is Great Blues History. Mark

I think some of these guys were giving the public the image it wanted. I refuse to believe he couldn't read or write.

Man I've known many guys in his generation that couldn't read or write. Take John Lee Hooker for one.

Then you're in denial that there is such a thing known as being illiterate? Look at the stats.

There has always been a percentage of the US population whose been illiterate, A majority of that percentage being African American. I can add James Cotton and Albert King to the list of bluesmen who couldn't read or write either. To date in this country there are young people who are, And I'm afraid that all of the people who left school because of the Pandemic? Those numbers will only increase.
