@@davidlauter1622 Hendrix was good. He laid a solid foundation for others to build on. He once said he'd gone full circle and couldn't take the guitar any further than he already had but there was so much more to come and had he lived I think he would've been amazed to hear how guitarists evolved over the years
@davidlauter1622Күн бұрын
@thefog7067 He would of been the leader. Cuz other than tapping it hasn't gone any farther than JIMI took it. No one can even write good songs anymore ! When JIMI was murdered that was the beginning of the end for innovative Rock music. Fusion came along and uplifted things for awhile, but when we lost JIMI that was really the end of progressive music.
@thefog7067Күн бұрын
@davidlauter1622 its gone waaay further than tapping

It's just the way he plays man. Pure raw unbridled talent. Same with Dimebag and Randy Rhoads. No one could touch them. Those 3 changed metal forever.

Always loved Ed's Music Man guitar. Liked the Kramers too, but never cared much for the later Wolfgang guitars

Love the music mans. In my opinion, that limited Dimarzio pickup they made for it is pound for pound the best guitar pickup I’ve ever heard. Had a guy make me some copies and I chucked them in a Wolfgang and it came alive

Except for a few variations this is basically the same solo Eddie does on Live right here right now

True…he’s always mixed-and-matched solo pieces this way

Live without net too. It's strange, during his years he loved basically that kind of solo. Sure he could changed it, and made new lines and melodies. He was a genius !!!

@@joepipe1010 I think once you settle to a good ‘structure’ for a solo, then you keep doing what works The old ‘start soft, build up…boom!’ structure worked well; we all waited for the Eruption tapping and it came both as an end to the show and an emotional release Maybe I’m overthinking this 😂

No Eddie without Jimmy … he stood on the backs of all the greats before him. Jimi Hendrix did a lot more with a lot less technology and was way more innovative on guitar for his time, not to mention he was a poet, singer and a superb sound engineer and a better songwriter overall… you must be too young to know the difference.
@bradhardesty3361Күн бұрын
Eddie wasn’t influenced by Jimi so there would have been an Eddie without Jimi. As far as equipment, Eddie made his. Jimi bought his. Eddie put a variac into a record player to get a sound. It’s really not even close who was better. It’s like all the people who wear Nirvana shirts but can’t name 5 of their songs
@breldsystem6149Күн бұрын
Your Nirvana reference shows that you’re completely out of touch with the times that Jimmy and Eddie were playing. Jimmy‘s first album was 1967, Eddie’s first album was 1979. Everyone who was playing guitar was influenced by Jimi Hendrix because he made the guitar hero a thing in the first place, with people like Jimmy page and Eric Clapton who Eddie was definitely influenced by and admitted more than once… also Eddie wasn’t a poet or a singer.
