Yeah...you ever go to a restaurant or in public, and see someone's kid running around & wonder why the parents just sit there & do nothing, ignoring it? And when the manager kicks the family out, everybody is like "Yay!". I've heard some people even say "They should discipline that kid..." But if you actually walked in their shoes, you might find that these kids ARE disciplined. Some PEOPLE, young and old, are just who & what they are. So what do you do? Well...society gangs up on them. Sends them to special schools, then therapists, then hospitals, then jails, rehabs, prisons, etc. Passive-aggressively pushing these people further out of sight, then mind... Human culture has no place for misfits. Drugs, prison, death...Australia. I observed hundreds of children at my jobs, and my own children, for decades. No one's "better" than anyone else. In fact, I've seen the "well behaved" kids get away with more than the "troubled" ones. And it just took a special person to see the special person in these "troubled kids". Once I touched base with them, told them I understood them, helped them find their outlet...their "thing" or art...they became great artists, musicians, and creative people. They may never became society's version of success, but they didn't lose their lives over it. Some went to rehab still, or remained "addicts". Some went to jail, or prison...but felt safer there than in "free" society. Some remained who they were..."mentally ill", but lived a life that worked for them. Some just couldn't hang on this earthly plane after being abandoned by their families & friends...and then society. Not everyone is cut from the same cloth. And who can say "socially acceptable" is a compliment? The world is rich & full of things that aren't human or society. The world, and the universe, does not revolve, or evolve, around human beings. Drop the stone...

I truly pity the concert goers of today, having to deal with people constantly filming a set, when they should let go and enjoy the music. Nothing justifies hitting the man, but I can understand the annoyance and stupidity generated by vast numbers of people filming, especially right in front of you, ruining the experience. You are destroying a magnificent memory with the need to capture an irrelevant lousy video clip, when you have the real Eddie Vedder in front of you. I watched Pearl Jam live in the 90s, the eruption of happiness when they came on stage for the first time was truly memorable. I have no clip of that, there are no videos on the internet of that concert. For me those concerts were far more special than today's concerts for one simple reason: people let go, they immersed themselves losing track of their own existence in the crowd. People went wild. What I see today is people worried with their own existence in the concert, saving clips for social media and unable to free themselves from the feeling that they are mere observers of the moment.

And if my day is not as positive and productive as I would like or things go terribly wrong - I know I can handle it ..... and then there is always Music to help soothe the tough and smooth the rough parts of it.... it keeps me going strong.
