I can't believe how people can tear apart this music, it is a great cover of an even greater song, albeit by a greater band. I love them both, first and foremost I love the Beatles, and specifically John Lennon penned songs. This has always been one of my favorites since I was like 8 yrs old. Love you Eddie Vedder.

It seems clear that he does this not to draw attention to himself over his band, but because, for him, everything he does starts with this: his voice, a guitar, an audience. He knows that rock has history and he has not appeared at the beginning of it. Very endearing.

I like how halfway thru he just stopped and kept a riot from starting. Hey do you guys think you're gonna start a riot? I don't think so. And then keeps playing. I just saw Guns n' Roses in Edmonton and Axl did the same thing. The new mellow Axl. That starts early and plays for 4 friggin hours. I missed the first few songs cause I assumed they would start late but no. If you see Gn'R and it says it starts at 7. It will start at 7. And Axl will give 200%. Until at least 11. Honestly I think when he played for AC DC Angus Young whipped him into shape. Axl loves those guys
