I'm finally retired and have time to actually learn something new. I've never in my life played a musical instrument but I always wanted to learn banjo. I love classic country and bluegrass. Planning to start out with a beginner 5 string banjo with a resonator. Do you think it's too late in life (59 years old) to really learn the banjo? Your videos are both educational and encouraging, thanks

There are many folks who are starting once they retire, so you are not alone. It is like anything, if you put in the time and dedication, you will be rewarded with the joy of playing music. The main thing is to not set unrealistic goals thinking you will ever play as fast as Earl Scruggs. There are lots of tunes in medium to slow tempos that are a lot of fun. Good luck and keep it fun!
