Really like this carb on my 1977 caprice sedan. i live in Norway, so not every day you bump into old classics, and its fun. The car is also my daily driver and this carb at 650 cfm is giving much needed fuel to my 350 sbc. Only thing i noticed is that the screws are almost all the way in after adjustment hehe, but i plan on putting some new aluminium heads on it which i hope frees up the carb a little more. i'm very pleased at the cheap price of 450 dollars (including tax and shipping). Transition between secondary and primary is noticeable, feels like injection or tbi, and releases loads of power :) .Thanks Edelbrock, your carbs are the best!

This carburetor is worth the money, the throttle response is crisp and smooth acceleration.

Its a wild child on. my 99 355sbc S10 and even better with the 5SP stick shift I installed the 650cc AVS Thunder Series 4barrel. It loves turnin the tires.

I'm more of a Rochestor fan, I run Quadrajets on my C10s (one of which is a Vortec headed 350 320hp/400ftlbs) but on pawapws '77 C10 its had a 2101/1405 combo on it since he bought it. The 1405 has seen better days, and the lack of electric choke was annoying Rather than try to track down a 40 year old Rochestor and get fix it up we decided to go with a 1906 Edelbrock. I'm actually rather impressed with it. The annular flow boosters are definitely an improvement over the traditional downleg (and the electric choke is nice too)

I put an 500 cfm AVs2 on my Mustang with Edelbrock alu heads and AirGap intake.. Works fine, almost as EFI.

What size engine? A 500cfm is most likely too small with a good set of heads

Use to be a holly guy but switch to Edelbrock since holly is now made in China along with msd

Quadrajet been around 50 years. These Edelbroke are in a landfill in under 10 years.

I need the 4300 squirter to make my transition from 2 to 4 smooth. I have been trying to buy part number 1475 for over two months. Everyone is on backorder and summit keeps pushing up the date. If you don't have parts for your carb 1905 then stop selling it. I had to put my Holley DP back on. Never had a problem getting parts for it.

Looking forward to the 800 cfm version for my 1971 Lincoln MKIII w/ 10.5:1 460 CID V8. Any updated release date? They kept saying "this summer" but summer's almost over. Can't wait for better part throttle and off idle performance vs older models. Take my money already!!

are there going to be changeable idle feed restrictions to fine tune the engine fuel needs from just off idle to when the primary booster has enough air flow to start flowing about 1900 RPMs.. this is where the fuel economy can be made.. and crazy fast off idle throttle response.. the new annular flow boosters work great when flowing .. there is something known as the LOW SPEED CIrcuit that needs to be tuned to match the engine displacement.

got question for you ....i just rebuild my chevy 350 1990 k5 blazer i converted it over from tbi to carb ..i did a few up grade on the engine high performance intake headers 3' pipes all way back up graded the cam to a howard rattler cam 525 intake lift 535 exhaust duration 227/235 lobe separation 109 center line 103 i still the same factory heads on there i believe they the swirl port heads ..i no i should have went with some better heads but the engine was already done. i put a brand new 1406 edelbrock carb on it right out the box every sence i put that carb on there i been using alot of fuel i set the carb best as posible ..im using a awful lot of fuel just with it iding..i have my pressure regulator set at 5psi..dont no why im losing so mush fuel

When is the 800 cfm avs 2 coming? Also are the booster compatible with older Edelbrock carbs? Could you sell the boosters to retrofit in my current 800 cfm preformer?

the 800 series should be available later this year. We will not be offering boosters on their own.

Sidecardbob where your inserts just straight on the inside? Don't annular boosters also have to have their own ventri shape on the inside so as to induce a increase in velocity thru the booster? The pictures I have seen of annular boosters they look like a rolled up airplane wing. It sounds like you did a good job with the 8 holes and a channel to hit all 8. Do you have any before and after pictures?

for how many psi of fuel is designed...?is the same like the other regular edelbrock carbs 6.8 or so PSI?

Run the same fuel pressure as any other Carter AFB based carb.

As the booster on a regular 140x can be removed to clean... Can an AVS 2 booster be switched into place?

Is this carb smog legal in calif.my chevy truck is a 82 chevy c30 with a quadrajet 350.its considered to be non egr non cat equipped truck due to its gvw 8600lbs.it has a smog pump.the rest of the smog equipment is thermal vacuumed controlled.the limits for hydrocarbons is 200 hcs or below.

will this work with the edelbrock eps performance intake manifold, and what do I do with the valve cover breather that has the tip comming out the side code number 4413. dont know what the tip on the top side on the valve cover breather.

I just put this on my car, & am experiencing that dead spot from idle to WOT ... after about a whole half second then it takes off.. otherwise besides that it feels smooth through the whole powerband.... what should I do ?

Grab a tuning kit and change out the springs... Likely need to go up to a stronger spring. Also check which hole the throttle lever is set to... If it's in the top hole, move down to middle one. Try one at a time.. hopefully that solves it!

I have a 383 stroker and it just does not like this carb I can not get it to tune right it will go up and down in rpms if I'm in it not a smooth carb lol

Depends on how much duration your cam has. If it's nothing radical this carb should be fine out of the box. I plan on using the 650 avs2 on my 350 with aluminum heads, air gap intake, and cam with .504 lift.

Not being able to retro fit all the previous Edelbrock carbs with annular boosters to cure an inherent flat spot problem is extremely poor business practice or most likely corporate greed. I will never purchase a new AVS2 to cure the flat spot issue!! To be clear, Edelbrock has lost me as a customer.

Garbage... the air door spring will break or unwind.. it's not a serviceable part.. Edelbrock will blame you breaking the spring.. their quality control is horrendous.. their tech line is worthless.... . But a 30 year old performer and clean it up.. performer is far superior.... it junk .. plain and simple

All that thing is is a fucken Big Flat spot floats were not set correctly metering Springs were Wong for normal engine I'm talking about a very mild Camed 9 to 1 Chevy small block 350With the air gap in take my favorite intake in the worldI bought one of these carbs because I knew and run of the Box and be reliable without a lot of tweaking m********** was I wrongI do put the biggest accelerator pumps quarter set the accelerator pump to the richest point give it as much time as I possibly could to get the stumble out of i tQuad jet would have ran betterHad great luck with these car racers before the new ones don't seem to have itReason you get a edlebach is because I don't wanna funk with a Holly

Trying to put on of these in an f250 and it's the biggest pain in the ass I've ever had doing anything in my 30 years of working on cars. It doesn't clear hard fuel lines, it doesn't clear the unremovable bracket for the cruise on the other side without reengineering the throttle control. Garbage. If my girlfriend wasn't a total dumbass and believes everything AutoZone tells her, I would be taking this piece of shit back.

F**** the old ones were way better take 3 days to get the stumble out of the mother funker I would rather just set up a Holly but the Edel Brock get better gas mileage in better response throttle response around town But the thing leans out when the secondaries open That secondary vacuum Plate with the holes in It bunch of junk the old ones of the solid plate I think work of better secondaries open up get up mass with the metering Springs Mild 350 horse 350 era gap 650 edlebach tuning nightmare Been doing this for 20 years plus never had so much trouble dialing in a carburetor Put super big accelerator Pump quarter and it Is much ported timing is I can give it Is more reliable than the single plane and the 750 Holley that I took off of it but it still has a off throttle hesitation All the research I've done on these new AVS carbs they seem to have the same issue everyone online is complaining about the same thing It's like the 650 is more like A750 Holly I've had better luck just put in a 600 on the thing Then they run out of the Box but these new ones they do not fuhkien run out of the Box Should have been easiest thing ever throw 650 on mild 350 Chevy have it run great That's why I Wanted to put edlebach on in Stead Of a fucken with the Holly Could a set Up the Holly to run perfect in half The time just would not have as good a gas mileage In less Street able Carb What the f***'s

@@JimBronson the only carb style with a seccondary accelerator pump is the Holley Double pumper (vac 2ndary holley are single pump) Air valve seccondary carbs (Like Rochestor or any AFB style carb) have no seccondary accelerator pump, but by slowing the air valve opening you can eliminate the stumble.

Your guys tech tried to sell me a 500 cfm for my small block 350 but gave me no reason why so why and why should I not do a 650 all they told me is I would be unhappy but other people have told me all you guys are doing that for is so I buy another carb when I need to upgrade my engine.
