Kudos to Edelbrock for building those heads. Having been bit now many times on cracked or worn-out engine parts, if you can get a new part from a reputable company, it's the only way to go. 👍

I know it costs more, but I don't understand why more people don't buy C-Body or pickup truck 8 3/4 & cut to fit. Like I've said about you before, great things happen to great people! Congratulations dude!
@auteurfiddler87068 ай бұрын
Truck 8 3/4's are pretty rare these days. I tried to have an axle from a truck shortened and I was getting quotes around $4000, the same as ordering an all new one.

@@auteurfiddler8706 just to narrow one?
@ScottsSpeedShop8 ай бұрын
Same here, unless you do the work yourself, places like Moser or Quicktime charge quite a bit to do the work. When I was pricing out Dana 60s for Jezebel, it was just all around better to get the Strange 60, rather than to cut down a truck Dana 60, which bring around 4-600 around here, and they are non-existent in junk yards anymore.
@thomasward45058 ай бұрын
Unless Moser has quadrupled their prices I got a housing narrowed for right around $100 and Axel's cut and re splined for 150 . The shipping was very expensive also just as much as the work as I recall which was a few years ago

Man I had some black finned edlebrock valve covers on back order from August of 2020 until Summer of 2023 finally just got a refund. Glad you got your parts excited for the build. Just like you I love working with my dad and now my son on our Mopar junk. Keep it up man.
@ScottsSpeedShop8 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear your parts got back ordered like that, I know these companies are doing everything they can to get parts in production while providing quality, because they know if they faulter, plenty of youtubers will be happy to complain. I would like to just see parts getting made and put into the hands of us car builders so we can finish up our car builds.

A Unilite (light shutter) with the electronics replaced by dual points . That is strange. I wonder if that stubby distributor is meant for that dual plug setup where the distributor has a second one stuck out to the side.
@ScottsSpeedShop8 ай бұрын
They did make some Unilite distributors that were setup with dual points, they just used the smaller unilite body, I am not exactly sure what that little distributor is for, but it is neat

I am really happy for you with the great scores you have obtained Jed. An all aluminum 426 Hemi should look bitchin in Jezebel. I do like the shape of the chrome valve covers better than the MTs. Just wondering....could you get those anodized in blue? That would look so off the hook!😊

This is my dream engine, too. I have a C body and a B body that I dream would have this installed. How do I get the same deal for Edelbrock and Bill Mitchel?
@ScottsSpeedShop8 ай бұрын
Well Bill didn't cut me much of a break a year ago, but he worked with me on shipping since it was my birthday and all, the deal with Edelbrock mostly pertains to Content Creators with some form of audience, they are just getting it off the ground from what I understand. I also know that Edelbrock has sales at the store in Olive Branch Mississippi

I got a question with as much time and energy and blood sweet and tears you got in to that 505 stroker you got in jezabell why do you want thst hemi in jezabell is it going to be as powerful as your 505 strocker???
@ScottsSpeedShop8 ай бұрын
Because at the end of the day, I'd have a Hemi in my Charger, and yes that Hemi will be able to make the power my 505 is making, even if we left it a smaller cubic inch engine. With all that said, I won't be changing the engines out for a while, I got a ton of more parts to gather

Please do not use chrome valve covers please!!! A chrome diff cover almost made me loose a good buddy of mine when he was going down the road and the diff absolutely was not leaking at the time and ended up blowing out while driving down the road and ended up locking the rear end in a 1980s lifted blazer and he ended up rolling it and almost lost his life over it!!! Definitely don’t run chrome on your vehicle because chrome won’t get you home!!!! Just saying and trying to save someone else’s life also!!!!
