I ordered the slider one V2 and the Headplus V2 plus the laser module and dedicated remote (no app needed) for some tabletop reviews on edc gear next year. Can’t wait to start using this gear. 👍🏽

I wish I would’ve seen this before I bought it one thing I never noticed was the sound of the slide action
@JoeLamOfficial Жыл бұрын
It's not as audible if it's going slow. Does sound affect your production?

Nice video. There doesn’t seem to be many real world reviews like your one! I’ve just ordered the head one and slider v2 (non pro), they were on 20% discount here in Australia (I can only assume they were trying to get rid of stock). Can’t wait, hopefully not going to experience jitters like others have mentioned.
@JoeLamOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Hey there thanks for watching and writing to me. Most of the other reviews were given the unit, although they claim they are being open honest about it. There are definite quirks and drawbacks as mentioned in certain areas that I feel some reviews don’t mention In a real world situation. FYI I don’t have the jitter issue. I tried semi macro shots and it was very smooth even going super slow. Hope you enjoy it! :)
@fenixtech13424 жыл бұрын
Joe Lam that’s great to hear! I’m pretty comfortable with Australian purchasing law to demand a refund if it has jitter issues and is unresolved with the retailer, so I’m pretty confident in the purchase. If you have any proud BRoll on your channel with the setup let me know, keen to see it in action!

I've heard (but not confirmed myself) that Edelkrone suppose to have good customer service (hopefully!). I have been adding some slider shots in my recent videos. Only subtle ones, but that's kinda what I wanted to use it for.

Hi recently i got SliderOnePro V2 & Headone but i can’t Connect 2 devises the time? R u have any idea please? Tnx
@JoeLamOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Hi I would try one or more of the following. Disconnect all the batteries. Reconnect. Does the device make a beep sound? And the slider move itself to the right to calibrate? Close down the app fully. Turn of Bluetooth off and back on. And see if the smart connect function works in the app when you start it back up?

Joe Lam ok tnx for the reply fnd... Slider and headone are connecting indépendantly but not the groupe connect? i’ll try and let u know tnx

The firmware updates is what makes me never use mine. And setup time. $1,600 just to be frustrated every time I think about using it. I am going to do a video about mine. I just did want to look like a idiot when I talked about it. Looks like you hit all my main points. I will link you in my video when I do. Great video, very well done.
@JoeLamOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Look forward to it. I will “force” myself to use it more. Since it’s so flipping expensive. But that’s a bad sign isn’t it? Feeling the dread to use a tool. The setup is too long and cumbersome.

Great video Joe, I've had the slider for few weeks now and my biggest frustration is the constant connection interruptions, and having to reconnect to the set up all the time. Did u have any issues with that.. I'm using Note 10 to control the slider.
@JoeLamOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Hi Val Ter. I only have this issue when I leave the app and go to the home menu on my iPhone (even for a brief moment), it would require reconnect, sometimes automatically or sometimes needing to press the connect button on screen. But I don't have any disconnection issue when I'm within the app itself. Does yours happen when you're in the app?

Oh and sometimes the second head one doesn’t connect or one connects as a pan and the other shows as a pan when it should be a tilt. Then you don’t know which one is which and you have to pull batteries and wait for it to show as disconnected before removing the second. Crazy that something that cost so much and can do so much, they didn’t try to make it user friendly as I think it should be. Want to go from one side to the other give it a minute, then think if you trying to do 20 or 30 shots those are all minutes on top of setup. I got 2 kids a wife so very little setup time to do very little shooting. every shoot is like shooting a wedding, you get one chance. You know how I feel when I get back to the computer and feel I didn’t get it just right. Wow!!! Hot
@JoeLamOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Totally understand. The more I use it. The more I realise certain areas are rather inconvenient and slows down the whole process. The Biggy is the forced updates when it hits unexpectedly. And like you said. If there’s any connection issue, having to remove the battery. Why not a switch or power button? How difficult would it have been to add? For something that’s already very expensive. I’ll carry on using it in the meantime and make up my mind in the long run.

Hi Joe thanks for the review, i appreciate it. im trying really hard to pick a motion system and am having a really hard time. at first i thought edelkrone was the way to go but there are an absurd amount of reviews on the footage being very shaking. Especially when doing macro work. have you noted any of that now that youve been using it for a lot longer?
@JoeLamOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Hi Tim, thank you for checking out my video. I have tried close up before and haven't noticed crazy shakes. I think however, I know why it might be the case or factors. The weight of the camera/lens, balance (if it's a long lens etc), what type of head you're using, the angle it's been setup, dual motor or single motor slider, and crucially also, how fast the slide has been setup, the angle of slide, 45 degree or vertical etc, is it tilted forward..... If any of those aren't setup properly (think of a gimbal for example), that's when you are pushing the system too hard and get undesirable results. But for me, even though my rig is quite heavy with the 16-55 f2.8 lens and sometimes even with a monitor on top. I don't find my footage shaky at all. Even with close ups. But that's just from my experience. You are doing the right thing in getting different opinions. Sorry rambled a bit.... Hope this helps.

Life Hack for you! Next time you get an update notice, close the app, disconnect from any internet connection you have active, open the app, what update?
@JoeLamOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Hmmm not tried that method before. I’ll give it a shot if it pops up again. So annoying that there’s no cancel update. They really should fix that.
@BenMilford4 жыл бұрын
I'd love to know if you run into any other problems!
@JoeLamOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Only one is the forced firmware update that I find annoying which happens quite frequently. And that it disconnect every time you leave the app or put phone to sleep. Don’t understand why it can’t maintain a constant connection like with Bluetooth headsets instead of having to reconnect (within the app) each time. (It does remember the settings but annoying having to sync and wait)

this is not a professional tool, simple as that it works but the cons are overwhelming i bought it unfortunately
@JoeLamOfficial4 жыл бұрын
It can be used in a “pro” environment but have to know it’s limitation and time constraints. What issues do you have with yours?
