When it comes to the PRO absolutely no problems, with the base version I've pressed power mode, though it didn't have too much of an effect, firmware is always updated as they force us to do that. Now, adjust the drag?? How can I do that??

I also have the Slider Pro Plus Long, and it's too loud on a full slide over 30% speed for interview situations, it's also a lot less smooth than the SliderOne in my experience. The Pro version will be a much better option as it has push and pull motors.

The haywired sound and move at 10:20 I encountered in the horizontal position. I have the v2 because I do not need the payload of the pro. Also, look into the tilt kit 2. I have a few edelkrone pieces.
@PhillipSkraba5 жыл бұрын
I find I only get that crazy noise in tilt mode, when the payload is too much for it to handle, which is weird as it's below the 3.1kg stated by Edelkrone. It tilts smoothly to a certain point, then when it goes past that point it's almost as the motors give in and just let go. Same goes with the SliderONE v2 in vertical mode, it should be able to handle the headONE, a7III and 24-70GM, which it struggles with and as soon as it's done it's slide, just drops the motor power and lets go of the camera. I'm actually in the middle of filming a comparison right now when it comes to footage, as a LOT of people has been asking me if it's jittery. So that should be up in a day or two. I'll definitely look into the tilt kit 🔥 I personally think they are a really great company, nothing is perfect, I've shot a lot on these sliders and managed to pull some really beautiful footage out of them. Thanks for stopping by!
@fsb53705 жыл бұрын
@@PhillipSkraba the only thing I blame myself and somewhat edelkrone is additional accessories you should buy to avoid jitters. Flat base adapters for tripods, or simply tripods legs without the heads. That helped in jitters.
@PhillipSkraba5 жыл бұрын
@@fsb5370 Well, if you check out the film I put out today, you'll see that both the v2 models do a pretty good job. Maybe one or two micro jitters, but apart from that on a stable tripod with a sensible lens, these sliders do a really good job. I'll pick up the tilt kit next month and see if that changes anything to the stability of the HeadONE, as that is my main worry, tilting.

Yes, I'm still very happy with the Pro, it's an excellent slider, especially when it comes to modular systems available now, I'd say it's the best micro slider. However, if you'd like to save money and get something just as smooth, if not smoother, but without any current modular devices that'll allow you to parallax, then the Zeapon is a great choice!

Thanks for the comparison. I noticed a similar behavior during a time-lapse recording with my SliderONE v2 in vertical position. The weight was even lighter. For this reason, the slider probably slipped back only a few millimeters. I had contacted Edelkrone about this problem. Here's the answer: "In the Time-Lapse mode, as you already know, motion is move-shoot-move, so system gets to a point, triggers your camera and wait there until interval is completed. While using SliderONE v2 on vertical alignment, SliderONE v2 tries to keep the camera at the same level throughout the whole interval and it may increase the battery consumption of the unit since motor is always running during this interval. So that, not to increase the battery consumption, in the firmware SliderONE v2 is programmed to stay at the same level for 3 seconds. " This explains why the v2 slips after reaching the end position. This is probably not a problem with the Pro version, since it is equipped with two motors, which increases the resistance. The timelapse was still okay. Before the camera was triggered, the slider automatically set the correct position again. However, it is still a restriction on the time interval.
@PhillipSkraba4 жыл бұрын
Yes! Before I decided to put my money down on Edelkrone instead of any other slider company, I borrowed my friends SliderONE v2 and HeadONE, I used it a lot in a loads of different situations, and one that really got me thinking was the vertical position, it would slip like you know, so I thought the PRO version with its two engines using a push pull type method must work better in this case as well as smoothen out some of those micro jitters when horizontal, and I was right, it really does! The standard version still does the job until it lets go of the motors at the end of a move. I can see how the time-lapse option can be a pain when this happens as it comes to the end of a move a couple of hundred times during one slide. The one thing that keeps me freaked out is the HeadONE in vertical mode and the way it slips when it goes over only a couple of degrees, I still have to buy the tilt kit to see if that changes things as I'll be able to balance the camera weight. Fingers crossed! The great thing with Edelkrone is they always have new updates trying to help us out to make things better, I really have a lot of respect for them for that, it's like they never give up and are constantly improving their products for us.

Im thinking to change my rov pro for the edelkrone SliderONE v2 do you think could be a good idea ? thanks
@PhillipSkraba4 жыл бұрын
Yes! It is a whole different world!! My Rov Pro has sat on my shelf since I bought it, it's waiting for Rhino to do an update where I will have control over key poses and more control over speed, until then it'll sit there and gather dust. The Edelkrone on the other hand has programable key poses, goes very, very, very, very slow if you want it to, so great for macro, time-lapses, talking heads, and I find it to be a lot smoother. I'm honestly very disappointed in Rhino and the fact they can't do one simple update, Edelkrone drops updates all the time, you can see they are constantly working on their products and making them easier to use for us, so I really respect that. So yes, I think it's a very good idea!

I have thought about building a manual slider with a track and a roller-skate type mount that would be pulled with a reel. I'm wondering if anyone has tried something like that. It could be pulled horizontally or on an incline. It would be more work to operate but a hell of a lot less $$. Probably not suitable for professional use but who knows . . . it might be more reliable and no batteries or mechanical failures to worry about.

Thanks for the great review. I was at the point to order the SliderONE v2, but I noticed the jittering in your video. I might go for the PRO version to avoid the jittering since I have a heavier camera + lens combination (Canon 1DX MKII and 24-70mm lens). Not sure if I want to use it in the vertical position anymore having seen your test... By the way, when you were showing the footage at 8:16, were you also using the HeadOne on the SliderOne v2 PRO?
@PhillipSkraba4 жыл бұрын
You're welcome, it's great to see it's helping people! I would honestly go for the PRO version, it makes sure any headaches in the future are avoided, especially with heavier setups. The vertical position on the PRO is fine, unless you're using the HeadONE, however I still need to test that out with the tilt kit, that might work better. Yes, in that shot I was using the same setup and exact position for both sliders, and both had the same HeadONE attached to them. The footage came out the same with the 2nd HeadONE my friend lent me. It's more the pushing/pulling power of the non-PRO version that creates a little bit of jitter. It's something that would no doubt disappear with some post stablization, but some people really hate on it, which I can understand, it's a lot of money spent. @@PhillipSkraba all I'm saying is i would of expected it to be faster in movement. i would rather use a normal slider. this product is very slow. i was looking to get it for high end property films and let the slider do the movements perfect without human pushing. i will just continue using a gimbal. you can fasten your footage in post production but what if you have subjects moving in your shots footage will look odd. next version needs to be faster for sure.
@PhillipSkraba2 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid this slider is not made for high speed shots, however I have used it in "high end property films" in the past, along with a gimbal, handheld work and a drone. The thing about this slider is that it is a motion controlled slider, so it'll repeat its movement to a dot hundreds of times. IF you want a faster slider you'd need to look at something like the Rhino with the high speed motor, however that has its share of problems. Real estate videos in my opinion should be slow, smooth and allow to view to take in the scenery, so for my use, this slider has been fantastic when it comes to property videos. That being said, I personally prefer to use a gimbal for property videos as its faster and less limiting.
