Videos story explained! STORY EXPLAINED the story is about the mother suffering after her son has died, the child in the video is never looked at directly by the mother & daughter and is either hidden or obscured somehow for example through the window,when hes hiding behind the small hill or the blurs on his face when hes jumping in the room.The exception to this is the scene when he is dragging the furniture which is left all over the place probably like her life/mind is as a result of the death and the fact it is the child that is doing the dragging emphasises that. Thats my thoughts tell me what you think.
@JanGames1007 жыл бұрын
i might be wrong but i think the whole video just like the song is about moving on and how everything can be fucked up and in the end everything is probably still gonna be alright. They move out of the house (so the house or what was in the house might stand for the person you once were in love with or your life in general). Then they still walk through and sit in the empty house which could stand for the hard process of letting go of someone. After that everything is a mess (the life, the thoughts), the furniture is outside of the house and so on. But then in the same shot the camera rotates around the women and all the furniture outside of the house (the mess after a break up) is gone and you can see a shooting star (which could stand for new "light" that is brought into the women's life). After that you can see a shot which is almost identical to the last bit of the one you saw before but the sky is looking brighter/nicer and the women goes back inside the house in which the light is now turned on. In the end everything is fine and something or someone new brought light into the life of the women. She successfully moved on. what you wrote also makes sense but think it's more likely that the video is about a dead father. but whatever it might be the video fits the theme of moving. Maybe he made it so one could in interpret it different ways on purpose. hope this isn't completely stupid :)

After all these years and this is still my favorite. The chords, synths and snapping in combination with jon's beautiful voice. And the lyrics... even when i am working, it demands me to feel. I made a lot of mistakes, and ive turned a lot of them into gold as well. Whenever I listen to this, i am wistful yet hopeful, both at the same time. And that shit is comforting.

Theory: -The mother lost these children, either though death or custody or age. This is hinted throughout the video, though the ways the kids are kind of flickering, like ghosts, and repeating the same actions over and over again. I think this is to simulate memories, or her remembering small snippets of their actions. And, of course, that big panning scene at the end where the camera swings over to show how there are no kids behind her, and that the furniture has disappeared too. -But what do the memories represent? What was going on before the loss of these children? -You can see her planting a tree at the beginning. This could symbolize either her moving to a different place (she's a single mother, I'm pretty sure, so maybe moving away from her previous life with the kids) or maybe even the birth of the kids in the first place? -They're moving the furniture out of the house. This probably stands for the family starting anew. Maybe they're trying to burn it down and save the furniture? But why, though? -The open window could represent the mother's new, clear point of view on the world? -The white drapes keep us from seeing very much. There's the one scene with the boy moving trash bags (I presume), but he is obscured by the white drapes. I think this supposed to symbolize the dream-like or memory-like feel to the mother remembering the kids. Questions -What does the shooting star symbolize? -Why is there a red glow on one side of her face at the end, when she's smoking a cigarette? It seems like a fire or something. -Similarly, why is there a red glow from the house when she goes towards it at the end? -Does Jon have any other reasons behind making this video other than just telling a story? I'm wondering if he was trying to represent himself or his mother or anyone else he knows/knew. If anyone else has more ideas, please say them.
@andronikosnik48557 жыл бұрын
Michelle Schultze I didn't think of this tbh. However, having said it that way, I believe the glow which seems to be a result of fire could mean that the woman decided to burn the past and start anew. This could explain why she burned the house while providing us with a possible topic of her thoughts while smoking her cigarette in the last scene, that being how is she going to move on as painlessly as possible.
@michelleschultze46417 жыл бұрын
That's so interesting. I think you might be right, or at close to right, at least. (Of course the video is up to interpretation. There isn't a certain "right answer")

A yr later but if u watch crash and float then u will see the shooting star at particular places there too... Eden is an empty gas station at 3am. Eden is an abandoned warehouse overgrown. Eden is a red eye flight with nothing but clouds out the window. Eden is morning light barely held back by the curtains. It’s cider and a book on your mattress waiting for the sheets to be done. Eden is watching a train go by. Eden is swimming across the river in summertime. Eden is the liminal space between what is and isn’t.

This is my favorite verse from EDEN, and this is why I think it's so special: Sometimes life doesn't go as planned, and that's fine. It can still lead to other beautiful things. He finally understood that and made peace with his mistakes, since he is now "weightless", and that's the cause of the interference in his voice on the "go" lyric, since he can fly high again.

We feel as though we live in a stagnant time. Watching as our lives seemingly dive past us while we watch as prisoners to our own existence. But the realisation is that it's only an illusion. We run to hear our heart beat once again but we are alive and living our own journey. It's worth something. It's worth more than gold. These are our worst times and it's still better than nothing.

DogeSec Memes/Beats music is well known to effect all sorts of biological systems within the human body. It’s well documented. Have you seen the video of a man with dementia that hasn’t spoke for years and sits in a chair dribbling all day with a blank stare on his face? They played him music from his early years and he was soon up and dancing and began to speak for the first time in years. His enthusiasm and ability to engage dramatically increased and he spoke to the interviewers reminiscing about his early days and talking about his love of music. It’s not depression I know but just an example. Music is powerful and there is a long history of it having a healing effect. It triggered all sorts of responses in the body down regulating/up regulating neurotransmitters and effecting the endocrine system and hormone production. Even a cats purr is known to release oxytocin. Plus, as others have said, if they say they feel depressed they are depressed. There is no parameters or defining symptoms. There may be universal symptoms associated with depression but only an individual can truly know how they are coping mentally. It’s strange that you feel the need to correct them.

So simple and yet so perfect! It's great to see how the lyrics connect to the video. The atmosphere was so heavy at the beginning and by the end its *weightless*. ❤

At 0:48 the boy is running cuz he likes the window being open but at 2:10 it’s open and the boy isn’t there. This could definitely be a video based on the mother and daughter trying to cope with the loss of their son, as Eden says the album is based on losing people you love.

I've been going through a heavy period of depression that ive tried to hide from my family and best friends. last night i skyped my best friend and tried to act happy but as soon as he said "how are you?" i just broke down into an emotional mess and cried my eyes out. I woke up feeling like shit but this song made me feel happy for 3:43 seconds so I'm trying to recognize the lil things that make me happy

EDEN's music helped me through hard times and i'm so happy to see him grow. His music is a different way of touching your feelings. A dreamy, light and full of love kind of touch and the style of his videos are just like how i always imagine them. Keep it up ans i hope to see you live in Berlin. 💙
