The music of Poeta Magica incorporates archaic sounds of the North as well as playful melodies from the travelling musicians of the Middle Ages and a variety of intoxicating rhythms from Orient to Occident. The exceptional selection of instruments played by Poeta Magica comprises among others hurdy-gurdy, Celtic harp, lute, shawn, nyckelharpa and various types of bagpipes and percussions. Poeta Magica performs live all over Europe and has published numerous CDs and contributed music to several tv productions. Poeta Magica - medieval world music!
EDERLEZI: The song got its name from Ederlezi which is a Spring festival, celebrating the return of springtime, celebrated especially by Romani people in the Balkans, Turkey and elsewhere around the world. Ederlezi is the Romani name for the Bulgarian, Macedonian and Serbian Feast of Saint George. It is celebrated on 6 May [O.S. 23 April] (occurring approximately 40 days after the spring equinox). The various Balkan spellings (Herdeljez, Erdelezi) are variants of the Turkish Hıdırellez, a holiday signaling the beginning of spring, occurring on the same day.
