Thank you so much, I was really lost with business but I'm starting to feel more hopeful, these videos are great! I have a question: in the conclusion, if you write a conclusion that uses the DISCOM structure ect but the specific judgement you made isn't the one on the mark scheme, should you still be awarded the same marks? Thanks again
@BusinessAsUsual3 жыл бұрын
The mark scheme doesn't cover every single point you could make. As long as your conclusion is valid and well structured, you should get the credit. Thanks for your feedback by the way!

Hi. If you memorize the indicative content of a mark scheme, do you just add context to that to bring it the answer to an A grade?
@BusinessAsUsual3 жыл бұрын
Well the mark schemes are just indicative content, so they're not developed or structured in a way that you can get mark band 4 solely from re-writing them. They're more like bullet points. If you're looking to turn a mark scheme point into a fully developed answer you need to ensure you give it the right level of depth, application, and balance (i.e. howevers). And obviously an effective judgement. I actually have never given my students a mark scheme and said "turn this into a good answer" as I think it promotes too much tunnel vision from a student. Even when I go through a question they have done, I don't show them the mark scheme. I write a model answer (which may be based on indicative content) and talk through that with them instead. Hope this helps Dylan

@@BusinessAsUsual thanks for that. With centred assessed grades, we're sitting past papers for internal assessments. Can you get full marks from off indicative content (with slight additions) for questions worth 6 marks or under? And what do you mean by too much tunnel vision?
@BusinessAsUsual3 жыл бұрын
@@dylanole8496 I mean that students focus so much on a point they've picked up from a mark scheme that they don't bring anything else into their argument, or consider any context or circumstances surrounding the business

My exam is next week but i would like to know how can i structure my essay for a question like assess two difficulties someone might face… (10 or 12 markers)
@BusinessAsUsual2 ай бұрын
That question won't exist. Assess two... is the structure of an 8 mark question. So you'd do two PEACH paragraphs. 10/12 would be Assess the impact/importance/value or something like that.
@uzumakinaruto22852 ай бұрын
@ Okay thank you, then what if it was assess the difficulties of…
@THATScrazyStorys8 ай бұрын
do you still reccomend this or just 1 paragraph for a 12 marker
@BusinessAsUsual8 ай бұрын
IF you can do 2 within timing, then yeah do 2. But if you don't have time, do 1. I'd rather see 1 + a conclusion than 2 with no time for a conclusion.

@@BusinessAsUsual thanks Is there a chance I can send you my answers and see if you can mark them ?

god bless you!- im having hard time understanding the difference between an evaluation and a conclusion. what do each consist of - their structure- what to write in each -just the difference between both.
@BusinessAsUsual4 жыл бұрын
I tend to refer to the shorter ones are judgements, and the more extended ones as conclusions. The 12 marker rewards you more for the evaluation and analysis (look at the mark bands, you get more marks for level 3 and 4 in a 12 than you do in a 10), which is why I ask for the conclusion in a 12 marker and just the judgement in the 10. I also encourage students to use the DISCOM structure in conclusions as it provides prompts for how to justify your conclusion. Make your Decision, then use one or two of the ISCOM prompts to justify. Does this help?
