Here in the states I'm afraid all that magnificent, weathered stonework would be covered in graffiti. Another most enjoyable video from you!
@photographyforenjoyment3 ай бұрын
Well Tim, believe me in many parts of the city there is graffiti; some artistic and some less so! Having said that, there now seem to be 'accepted' sites where these artists can express themselves and often their work does actually brighten-up otherwise dull areas. I am glad you liked it and regards to all in the USA.

That was strangely satisfying and entertaining watching you crawling around and suffering for your Art Alan. It was also amusing seeing you behind bars briefly 😅 Seriously, I really enjoyed the episode and the photos of the railway paraphernalia. Thank you 👏

That's very kind of you to say. I actually enjoyed stumbling around getting into those old rooms, the effort was worth it in the end!

And that was the last we ever saw of him...... Well Alan that was some adventure, although I think you should have left chalk marks Arne Saknussemm style so the rescue teams might find you. I would have given up at the end of the platform. That place sure was deserted does anyone still live in Liverpool? Very interesting you held us captive all the way through, inspirational also, you demonstrated the art of finding interest in dismal places. Cheers Alan, and keep safe! 😃
@photographyforenjoyment3 ай бұрын
Ah well quoted Steve, Arne Saknussemm had a rather bigger adventure than me though! It was indeed a quiet day on the platforms there and in fact I've never been there when you could refer to it as 'busy'.
@ColinGilera2 ай бұрын
It's deserted as everyone has been warned about getting off at Edge Hill, a very unsafe practice! The photos after the jungle expedition were worth it, you consistently pull very nice photos out of unloved places, much more interesting for us locals than the big landscape and seascape jobs. Another excellent video - thanks, and sorry for lowering the tone :)

and that, ladies and gentlemen, is how it is done 🙂 wonderfully entertaining as always Alan. I loved the benches at 5:30 - looked like some sort of dystopian mechanical beetle (OK, it's just me!!). also the juxtaposition of that brand new looking tarmac at 8:00 caught my eye. just a shame the "door to nowhere" wasn't slightly ajar - that would have been the cherry on top! I always though marvel at the shots you see and capture from the most otherwise (photographically) mundane of locations 🙂
@photographyforenjoyment3 ай бұрын
I'll take 'mundane' Nick! It really doesn't have much appeal as a building, hence the more detail shots and my sneaking-in to the dingy spaces under the ramps. Yes, I agree about the beetle!
@Enrique-the-photographer3 ай бұрын
Really enjoyable video Alan, or should I say Indiana Jones? I’m always amazed at how you get those detail shots, you really pay attention to your surroundings (and have an eye for it), I probably would walk past most opportunities and not notice that there's a shot to be captured, I guess that’s because I’m just looking for iguanas. Be well and stay safe.
@photographyforenjoyment3 ай бұрын
Well Enrique my images aren't to everyones taste, I'll be the first to acknowledge that! But sometimes the locations just lend themselves to more detail shots than general views. Glad you liked some of them 👍

I so enjoyed this. Documentary photography is, to my mind the most important. Have you heard of Martin Zero? I would highly recommend his channel. I put a roll of film into my OM4Ti today, and I hope my efforts will be rewarded. Every time I hold the camera I think of Yoshihisa Maitani, completely brilliant. Thank you.
@photographyforenjoyment3 ай бұрын
The Mancunian Martin Zero! Yes I have watched his stuff for quite some time, excellent stuff indeed. Well I am SOOO jealous of you owning an OM4Ti and I am 100% sure your efforts will be well rewarded. As for Maitani? He deserves wider recognition!

OM4Ti that's a beautiful camera, I have an om2n , but the shutter speeds are unreliable, and it needs a service, I would love to know how your roll of film goes , I still shoot film occasionally and enjoy working in the darkroom, something magical about the whole process

Thanks for that video! I too love old buildings and peeling paint and the like. I love taking pics of them and I enjoy seeing photographs of them. I loved the yellow doors with the peeling paint from your video as well as the shots inside the old station, those were gorgeous with the light coming through, the colors of the bricks, and the overgrown vegetation. So lovely! I wish KZbin allowed for the sharing of photos or even links, I would love to share some of my shots with you to see what you think. It’s fun when you find people who take the same types of photos as you. Anyway, I enjoyed your video and subscribed to watch more!

Edge Hill Station is one and a half miles from the town Center of Liverpool ( you said "its on the outskirts of Liverpool") Edge Hill is Well within the City of Liverpool!. You mentioned Crown Street station, as you said "there is nothing left of it what so ever" well Not So as there is open park land named after Crown Street Station with signs at each entrance explaining the significance of the area. Within that area, one of the Wapping Dock underground tunnel vent-chimneys stands tall ... And the first of the three tunnels at Edge Hill Cuttings enters the park, it is hidden with a mound and bushes, you can go into the bushes and the tunnel entrance and railway line ending.
@photographyforenjoyment3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the observations David. My comments about Crown Street Station (Terminus to be exact), were intended to mean that there are no above ground traces of the buildings.
