Adam Copeland (FKA EDGE in the WWE) was involved in an insane real situation with Matt Hardy & Lita that saw their real life situation come to pro wrestling storyline in 2005 that lead to their match at Summerslam 2005. This was the WWE Story that launched the Rated R Superstar and saw the behind-the-scenes reality become wrestling television.

The fact that Matt would show up and had to be escorted out proved something was going on. But we were not told what. I was watching Jeff Hardy facing the UNDERTAKER in a ladder match. And Lita up after her neck surgery. And it was hard to watch

They both have said that Matt was throwing stiff punches and Edge then threw a few too. Edge said even when it was happening he knew he deserved it and understood Matt going stiff on him.
