I only paint my home with Benjamin Moore paint. I am planning on painting the living room, dining room, and hallways before Christmas. This video helped me to narrow down my choice. I love both colors, but will be using Edgecomb Gray. Thanks!!!!

We tested both these colours (along with several other BM grey/greiges) for our main area/hallways and Edgecomb was the clear winner. Even though we have lots of natural light, Revere Pewter was just too dark.

I’m wanting to paint my Honey Oak kitchen cabinets, which happen to be on the NW side of my house. I haven’t actually picked up any paint samples yet but I’m wanting to go with taupe paint mostly throughout my house. I thought it might be easier to paint my cabinets the same color I paint my walls through the house just to get a good “flow”. I have bright white trim throughout my house and I have lots of light through the rest of my house because I have huge floor to ceiling windows. My appliances however in my kitchen are black. (My husband’s idea, not mine!) My backsplash and my countertops have brown, grey and creme in them so I think the light to mid tone taupes would be my best bet. I just think it would lighten my kitchen up and update it somewhat.

Qs, did you noticed any yellow tinge in edgecomb? I like edgecomb but on some pix, too much yellow is shown? Any advice?

@@ia6980edgecomb is sooo gray in my house - way more gray than in any pic I’ve seen online. I just put on the first coat and considering abandoning it and starting over

I got these samples and did 18x18 and cant make up my mind - revere looks like a true grey, while edgemont looks light like it’s hard I don’t know but I wouldn’t say they are similar ?

(Possible) first time painter here. Do you think Edgecomb Gray looks good in South facing rooms? The condo I'm gonna move in has South facing living room and bedroom. But since it's a ground floor unit, there's not much light coming in. I'm worried it will make color looks dirty and dull. Too bad I can't sample it now coz the place is not available until next month. My second choice would be Pale Oak. And if I use Edgecomb Gray, I'm looking to use Simply White for trim and Kendall Charcoal as accent. Does this combination make sense? Thanks! Keep up the good work. Thanks for all those videos! I love these two colours. I have very dark brown furniture and area rugs with a lot of reds or greens. My bedroom set, on the other hand is light beige. I'm completely confused about what color to pick for my new, somewhat smaller place. I'm thinking Edgecomb Grey will do the trick. Let me know what you think. Now, picking the trim color will be the next challenge.

I never win anything before, so thank you (LOL)! If you ever get to see this comment, wondering what you think. Today, I painted a small section on the wall with Revere Pewter and Willow Creek. They both look really nice, but Willow Creek gives that warm and cozy feeling that I'm looking for but am afraid it might make the room a little tight since it's a darker shade. Thinking of using it as an accent wall by the headboard and going with Revere Pewter on the rest of the wall.

for what it is worth, I had my south facing master bedroom painted revere pewter - actually looked muddy and dark in certain areas of the room. had it repainted edgecomb gray and it is perfect! I love it

I painted my kitchen in Revere Pewter and my ceiling and trim is Decorators White, now my ivory cabinets look a little yellowish. Would Edgecomb gray look good on my cabinets or which color would you recommend?

Love both of these colors. I was going to paint the inside of my home one or the other. In my home, the Revere Pewter took on different hues depending on the wall I put the pain chip on. One wall made it look almost lavender while other walls made it just look muddy. I am still not sure about Edgecomb in my home. It sort of went yellow. I did end up painting the exterior of my home Revere Pewter and I absolutely love it. In full sun it looks great. On cloudy days it goes a bit darker. But I would do it again!

@@thepaintpeople thank you. I still haven’t decided what the paint the inside. It’s currently painted Bone which also takes on different hues depending on the time of day. Not sure if I want to go through that again. And I’m not seeing a big difference between the Bone and Edgecomb.

I have swatches all over my house right now. Revere pewter looks great on one side of my house but pale oak and endgecomb gray are winning the other side. My cabinets are cherry wood which I hate and the floors are mid tone oak with orange undertones. Warm beiges and taupes look pink, anything with yellow undertones looks terrible with the cabinets and cool grays clash with everything. I'm having a really hard time deciding.

wondering how edgecomb will hold up in my east facing bedrooms. they have light in the morning and get darker in the afternoon. I love revere pewter but think it will get muddy. I have edgecomb in my old house and it fell flat in some areas. like the north east facing bedrooms.

Jennifer// have you looked at Benjamin Moore's Sea Salt. Not Sherwin Williams because you said you didn't want any greens and sea salt by Sherwin-Williams definitely can show up green, but Benjamin Moore Sea Salt is gorg. I don't feel like it's talked about enough

okay so I am using BM October mist as an accent on my island front. I have honey oak cabinets and a beautiful cream quartz counter with viens of the honey oak color through it. (Lincoln gold) I am stuck with the cabinets and my backspalsh has done wonderder to tie it into my counters and pale terra cotta tile. It is a marble herringbone in cream with golden brown and grey tones here and there. Okay, that being said.., the cabinets, counters and backsplash are great together..... I picked october mist which goes great as an accent. My question is.... Revere Pewter on my large open concept living area with south exposure or edgecomb gray. I have dark brown leather sectional and warm colours.

Hi Judy, it's hard to visualize without seeing the space, but my hunch is Edgecomb Gray, simply because Revere Pewter can read a little muddy beige with a lot a of dark furniture, and the warmth of edgecomb will tie all those other tones together.

@@thepaintpeople Can you or would you use Evergreen fog or October Mist as a accent wall for Edgecomb Gray? Do they work together? Or is there a better main Colour than Edgecomb Gray? I have a north/east facing rooms and a dark stairwell. Also a darker south facing room that is darker since I have a covered patio above the windows. I have currently Kilim Beige, but I want to replace it as a Main Color with accents with Evergreen Fog and October Mist! I have warm with light gray floors. ie Newport from Lock and go castle collection.

Can edgecomb gray be used as exterior color? I am looking for an exterior color for my house. It’s a concrete, two story hose that sits on a hill with a view of the ocean. I think a neutral color would be best?Any suggestions?

I'd say so! It might look lighter than you think, so maybe Revere Pewter might give you a tad more contrast. 😎

Maybe with colors that are timeless and can withstand fading. I'm really having a difficult time choosing due to my location, Caribbean island.
