I have a set of these in my den. I hooked mine up to a modest Yamaha subwoofer, and the sound is awesome. They sit on top of my main tower speakers that are awesome sounding audiophile "beasts" that cost at least four times as much. However, the Edifier R1700BTs are surprisingly clear, with very good sound-staging, spacing and pace, rhythm and timing. Sometimes I confuse them with my towers. That's how good the Edifiers are. Also, I got mine brand new from Amazon for only $129 on sale. I can't imagine a better audiophile experience for such a small amount of money.

Get the r1855db + the edifier mr4 for studio monitor clarity, you can change between both based on what you want to listen to. Details or general listening. R2750db is expensive but can never get the detailed sound of a studio monitor, and the 1855db is good enough for your intended use. If you buy the r2750db you'll go further down the rabbit hole and eventually upgrade to something more expensive.

The only problem is those speakers require proprietary cable to connect the right in the left so you are limited on how far they can be apart unlike the model below those that use standard speaker cable and you can put them anywhere you want. I really really considered those speakers but that proprietary cable limits you greatly and it is rather thick
@KyleErickson2 жыл бұрын
Fair enough, I find the cable to be quite long (longer than I would ever need by quite a bit), and a replacement cable if anything happens is only $20. But totally get why you might feel that way!

I don't think that wire is proprietary. I'm not 100% but I think it's a 5 pin din speaker wire. It's actually pretty commercial in the audio world. You can get that wire in many places for about $10
