When on Earth is the scaffolding going to come down from that Missoni hotel on the corner of George IV Bridge? It's been up for over 5 years with no work being at all. Looks ghastly. A total blight on the Royal Mile and the Old Town.

Likewise - I came to Australia with my parents in 1961 and I still remember the installation of the “electric blanket” - installed to prevent buses stalling in the snow. I believe (as mentioned by Clan Broonford) it was too expensive to use!
