I actually worked on the Cramond property for over 2yrs. Technically it's 3 full blocks of flats, touted as luxury. The actual flat that was shown here was actually one of the last to be built, it was the last block started anyway and that exact flat was the break/canteen for the workers while the other blocks were being built, obviously had to walls in place then, was just a wide open space with bare block walls but just weird seeing it was the exact same space I had a thousand lunches in, right smack bang where the couch is now. 2 things about the property though... 1...The blocks are directly in line with the airport, incoming planes every 30mins or so that are so close to the ground you can read the small writing on the sides regarding safety exits etc and see the faces of passengers, they used to actually arrange and time the viewings of potential buyers of the plots originally like a military operation to get them in and out in the 25min or so window between plane landings so they wouldn't be instantly put off. 2...These blocks were built by a pair of Egyptian brothers who were the tightest, stingiest, dodgiest folk I've ever worked for. The flats themselves are built with the cheapest garbage materials you could imagine, if you were to put your hand on any wall in the property and give it a little push you would feel the bounce and play in it as it was built to the absolute minimum building standards and no more, whole build was all about making it as cheap as possible while being legal. Not a single person out of the hundreds that worked on these flats would ever in a million years buy one of these, even if they were half of what they are going for now Every builder worth his salt would avoid like the plague! Still nice to see them again and how they are now though

The desire to remain in Stockbridge is totally understandable - that area, just 10 minutes walk from Princes Street one way, scenic Dean Village and the galleries of Modern Art the other, and the Royal Botanic Gardens the other is fantastic. Indeed, it and Bruntsfield/Morningside are like fabulous mini worlds of their own. Mind, Cramond is also wonderful, offering a proposition that Chandra will likely learn to appreciate once she settles in. That should be made all the easier knowing that Stockbridge is only a short ride away, so popping over to the shops and market can be done at a moment's notice. How fortunate she and her family are!
