Yeah - back in 1987 I was charged $21 for 2 Extra Strength Tylenol in the hospital. I would've just grabbed some out of my purse if I'd known what they were going to charge me. And the prices are 100x higher now... wowza!

Yeah but in Archie's era 640 was about 3750. That's more than a month of Archie's salary. And he was laid off. People forget how awful the 70s were for average working class people. In those days even the GOP were socialists. The economy was dreadful.

I was born in 1961 3 months premature i was in the hospital for 1 month the bill was 700 dollars and it took my parents 5 years to pay that off he only brought home at that time was a 100 dollars a week

There was Medicare back then. It started in the 60's. But Archie didn't qualify for it because he was only in his early 50's.
