So glad you included Daredevil hallway sequence, one of my favorite fight scenes! Between choreography, sound, and editing its just flawless! Keep up the good work these videos are awesome glad I found your channel. I read your response that you went to film school, I am thinking I want to go it seems like you got a lot out of your time there. All I know is I am interested in telling stories well

Hi Matt really glad you enjoyed the video, I'll try and keep it up! :) To be honest, what I went to wasn't a film school, it was a film course at a Sixth Form college, which was quite low budget and it was more the passion for film from students and teachers that made it such a good working environment, I'm not sure many other Sixth Forms are the same as the one I went to, I was very lucky really. However I did go to a university for film, which was essentially film school, but as you've probably read before, I had to drop out. Choosing whether to go or not is a tough decision, it all depends on whether you think you need it or not, there's so much online nowadays that it's a tough decision to make. Nevertheless, glad you enjoyed the video :)

Great video, once again. Have you watched Tony Zhou's (Every Frame a Painting) video on Jackie Chan's action scenes? He makes a great point about how Jackie likes cutting to punches being pulled back or right before they impact for the audience to "feel" the hits. I agree with this decision because with so many modern films, Marvel is very guilty of this, can show a city coming down on itself and you feel indifferent. This also comes down to the scale of the reality at play but that's a whole different story.

Thanks Tobias for all your support! I have seen EFaP's video on Jackie, and it's just phenomenal. I 100 percent agree with what he says, and the same for you. I've actually got a video in the pipelines that regards the whole superhero comment you mentioned. The problem essentially is that those films do so well in cinemas, it means studios don't necessarily care about the intricacies of filmmaking, which is a problem that needs to be fixed.

Viewfinder That's completely accurate. Big studios don't give a damn about the art of filmmaking, they're in it for the money. Taken is a great example, as you've shown. I'm looking forward to that video you've mentioned!

All good points but the odds of most editors to be in a position of privilege to work with these iconic directors on iconic films is nill. Most editors in the world are working on projects where youre fishing for scraps to tell a story.

Turn up your voice audio. You're voice is wonderful, but you speak softly.
