So, here's the thing.. Offer sheets need to be signed by the player. That means, if I am understanding correctly, both players agreed to go to St. Louis. That tells me that they are only in it for the money and don't care where they get it. So just let them both go. They obviously don't want to be on a winning team in Edmonton. Let them go be on a losing team so we can all laugh at them.

That's exactly how I see it. No one is bigger than the team. I won't laugh at them though - I wish them well and perhaps in 2 years we can steal them back.

I would agree with you if the money involved was only a couple hundred grand over their current salary but c’mon…that’s a lot of dough to walk away from. So to say being in it only for the money is really unfair. Remember, now that they’ve signed the offer sheet, they will get that salary from either team. Nothing personally wrong with what they did.

Barrie is the answer like arsenic is good for indigestion. Old and slow D men won't help at all imo. I'd find a way to resign Holloway. But Broberg? No way. He'll probably be worth that down the road, and maybe even this year, but I doubt it will be that fast.

I like the thought of Barrie and Shultz coming back. Two D players that have experience and smarts and also fit the mold of the organization and also fit well in the cap space. Let's do it. Also let Holloway go because of his undisclosed injury. Don't get me wrong he is a great player at a young age but I see him skating with reckless abandon. Sometimes it is hard to slow a player of his caliber.

Match on holloway. Let broberg walk. Trade for a Dman at deadline. This teams regular season record isnt going to get effected much by 1 depth dman leaving. Is it ideal, no. But its not the end of the world.

The Oilers forward group is fine with or without Holloway. The need is for a positionally solid defense-first right-shot defenseman to pair with Nurse. Nurse is an agent of chaos (not always a bad thing) but he needs a partner who can keep order. I don't carte if he produces points, the forwards can score. Nurse needs a partner who can defend.

I know it’s slow, but Tyson come on my man, this is the same speculation Patrick had two hours before you, with Schultz and Barrie. I really want to keep both and wish we could. Just such a tough spot the Blues put us in. Great Dmen are hard to find so as much as I love Holloway I think Broberg is the better choice. Maybe Holloway comes back after his two years.
