I don't use automation on track mute button, it can cause clicks. I use automating the gain parameter to zero, on the utility plugin. It looks almost like a vertical one, but there is still a slight fade. Thanks for the tutorials.

Once again a clean and simple no-bullshit video. 👍 I'd suggest using the Utility plug-in for all volume/mute automation you would otherwise do on the track controls. It's only a little extra step, but it allows you to still use those controls for monitoring or mixing purposes on top of the track's volume automation.

You can also literally just make the intro and build like 10 times quieter then the drop.

Personally, I don't like using the utility for mute switch automation! This is because it introduces clicks whereas track mute automation does not. I prefer track muting, then if need be you can always re-enable the automation if you need to use the mute switch for mixing purposes. For volume automation though of course, utility is definitely the way to go

@@base13music Be careful automating your whole project to be quieter in the break, this is a great technique to use in subtle amounts, but if you make it too emphasised then the drop in volume become very unnatural feeling. Be subtle with volume automation!
