Yes, but please remember - when every part of your track is WIDE, then nothing is wide. You need contrast between elements of your track =) Nice video

YES..! Will I just wanted to add, not sure if this is correct, but on 80's tracks that lack a modern widening, I used your method and also added a stock bass mono plug-in to the actual track (to mono just the low frequencies), A combination of the two so far is working really well, I just wanted to thank you again!!

Two widen an element like strings then I split the signal in two pan one all left and one all right, then edit the EQ of each different. Then put a small amount of distortion on one or both buy different settings, now strings will be wide because I have changed the frequency of each.

Would a normal delay work or does it need the detune feature?
@HOLLASOUNDS Жыл бұрын
Yes normal delay will work but best to either have two instance of the sound or split the audio in to one panned hard left, one panned hard right. Put a delay on each but at different settings this will widen the audio because you are changing the frequency of each.

@HollerAtcherBoi Жыл бұрын
@@newschooldnb1995 the purpose of this parallel channel is to add width and not affect the mid channel much, if at all. So the parallel channel only/mostly adds to the sides. Then you blend it in to taste on individual tracks/busses.

Why not just mute the mid completely in your return track?
@stayben102 Жыл бұрын
By keeping the mids on he’s able to bring any sound that’s completely mono into stereo. Other wise he’s just boosting whatever’s in the sides already and it wouldn’t widen unless the effect widener is the first thing in the signal chain. Otherwise yeah he could mute mid lmao.

Because the old sounds stay where they are and the new sound or effects are blended into the original signal ontop.
