Why is the sidechain on the “ghost” tick? Why is the direct kick not selected? What is the idea behind that?
@marco8311 ай бұрын
The tick is always there, while the kick may not when I need it, i.e. to sidechain pads or a sub bass during breakdowns. In addition, the tick is shorter/less complex than the kick's waveform, allowing me to duck the signal more precisely, and customize more.
@jespere.thomsen239611 ай бұрын
Yes, as @marco83 points out, it is essentially for control. For the same reason, I use a volume shaper instead. But it is more a question of personal preference. You can also get the results you want without the tick track, but it typically takes longer to dial it in, and you need to be creative if you want it working when the kick isn't playing.
@Carlho8011 ай бұрын
He uses a shorter sound than a kick to allow for more control of the sidechain using the compressor settings. Plus you can also have the ghost playing in the breaks where there is no kick if you still want to sidechain elements.
