Honda's finally bringing an EV to the U.S. market and we want to know what you think. Is late really better than never? Let us know in the comments below!
@4literv6 Жыл бұрын
Price is nuts for the specs imo, charging is just absolutely pathetic for anything built after 2019. 65 miles in 10mins? Most modern evs do 100+in this segment for that same time. And 260 miles awd range with 85kwhs useable is not good. It looks pretty nice though. Will it get any tax credit? It's using gm ultium platform and cells. So even if it's not made in the U.S. it should perhaps qualify for half the credit? This is like the Honda E all over again, looks cool, but heavy, low range, slow charging&high pricing. 🤔

Honda fans were not waiting for an EV. We want to continue the latest greatest technology, and 6speed manuals. Steam engine car created in 1769 EV 1st created in 1832 Internal CV created in 1886 Internal Combustion Engine vehicle, contrary to popular belief, is the newest technology, and keeps moving forward. One day we'll get 100 miles out of one drop of gas... thanks to companies like Honda & Toyota.
@OmahaRiverDonkey Жыл бұрын
Pretty generic, and at a price point the current market is rejecting as the new normal. They should've brought the smaller Honda-E to the US and created their own segment instead of likely failing in a very crowded, competitive segment. Also, against popular opinion, most people don't really need a road trip car so that threshold 300 mile range doesn't apply, people just think it does. We don't all live in West Texas or Alaska.

This was originally THE car I was considering being my first new car purchase in the future when I can afford it but I'm so unfamiliar with how to tell if it'd be cost effective for me to get an electric vehicle, so I've been thinking the hybrid CR-V or RAV-4 instead, but I'm going to need Honda to put this color for the Prologue onto the hybrid CUV like yesterday, it's such a unique and pretty shade of blue. This is actually not the first vehicle to be all electric by Honda and in the US. The Fit EV was a for lease only vehicle that I hoped to get once available as a finance option but then was discontinued. As someone who always had Honda vehicles I was beginning to realize that Honda was just not it for me because all these other vehicle companies including American companies were coming out with an EV option, and Honda wasn't. When I finally decided to make the switch to an all-electric vehicle it was the second generation Nissan Leaf. Not everyone needs a giant SUV or truck for it to be electric. Yes, the Nissan Leaf is older technology and is phasing out the ChadeMo connector. Should I ever upgrade eventually, it'll be to a Chevy Bolt or a Hyundai Ioniq 5 or something small of that nature.

I'm dumbfounded by this vehicle. It's 11" longer than an ID4 and somehow has less luggage space and horrible rear seat headroom. To top things off, it's got less HP, slower charging and it's going to cost a lot more than the ID4. This is basically a monumental miss.
@shivamarya5225 Жыл бұрын
It has an extra 5 cubic face box underneath the mat which isn't counted in cargo space so the cargo is the same as id4 but more legroom and it's much wider inside, id4 cant even fit two cup holders side by side. Let's not talk about VW infotainment and climate control, it's sunroof is also fixed. Base id4 also only has 209 mile range and even long range one has 275 mile and it has lower charging speed
@kevinn1158 Жыл бұрын
@@shivamarya5225 I agree about the present VW software, but they’ve just revealed a completely new software system, a new main screen, a new motor with more HP and range. You can’t compare the base ID4 battery to this. The price differential is huge. In fact, Kia and Hyundai’s 800v charging system is far superior. These companies need to get it through their heads that normal people don’t want to sit around for 35-40mins to charge their car on a trip. My original point was, Honda is bringing a vehicle that’s already falling short in charging speed, HP, and is seemingly over priced vs it’s competition. What’s really odd is that they couldn’t fit a frunk in that extra long hood.
