Alex thank you for your words! Yes, there's lots of emotions in this composition. This is the final version that came out about 4 years after the original one. The new parts appeared spontaneously, like they wanted to be part of it as well. You can hear the original video linked on the video. Enjoy your RAV A integral and happy new year!

@@EdoardoStrianiHandpanMusic hi, yes will take a look. i noticed that they now make them in 432Hz and am torn between them. some people say that the 432hz is better sounding and healing qualities as its more in line with nature. do you have any thoughts on the new 432hz rav vast drums?

Hello Alex, what I can say is that it won't be possible to play/jam with other people, as the 432hz tuning doesn't fit with the 440hz. Besides this, I don't see particular benefits from that tuning. But that's personal :)

This is a beautiful piece, flawlessly performed, and the main hook melody stuck in my head. I always love it when players can maintain melody and percussion layers... it's not easy to do! A Integral is so great for mysterious songs, and its chords are luscious.

@@EdoardoStrianiHandpanMusic Just curious, does your A Integral make kind of a gritty "growl" sound if you do a strong bass drum hit while striking the center tongue? If so, it seems like an effect unique to this scale (at least of the 4 I've tried).

@@JonPerson sorry, I am not sure I understand what you mean :) What do you mean by bass drum hit? Anyway, I'd say I didn't notice any specific sound while striking the central note.

If I do a heavy, ham-fisted hit with my left hand next to the center tongue at the same time as striking the center tongue with the right thumb, there's a little "growl" in the resonation. I have no idea what to do with it, but it seemed like a neat little effect unique to the A.

Great melody and technique, Edoardo! What kind of mics did you use for this?

Hello Jon, thank you. For the RAV I always use the AKG C 411 PP, which is a contact microphone. On this recording I might have used also another overhead microphone, but most of the sound always come from the AKG. I have to say there's load of post production to reach this sound (equalization, reverb, compressor). I also noticed this microphone doesn't give the same results on the more recent RAV models.

It's been a little frustrating, as I know the sound I'm looking for is in there somewhere. I've got the right hardware, I just need to learn the software tools better.
