Seeing as this video was made in 2017, its worth mentioning that zbrush core has SO many more tools allowed to it now. Though with Maxon being at the helm of pixologic, who knows if we will evee see a new update for it. Paid or not. But its still very much worth owning if you have it. But if you're going in brand new, i suggest pirating full zbrush, using 3d coat print "which is free, and its sculpting is miles ahead of blenders" buying full 3d coat, or just using blender if you think its right for you. But i need to say again, give 3d coats free program a try. You will be shocked how good it is, and how close it is to zbrush, if not even better "especially in poly modeling and texture"

Great tutorial!! It would be wonderful if you can show us more hard surface creations with zbrushcore! How did you copy the rings with 3d gizmo to create the handle? Ctrl + drag?

fabio fanesi Thanks! I might do another more complex hard surface model tutorial in Core. Yes you can duplicate a mesh using Ctrl and having Transpose set to Move. It will duplicate what is unmasked.

I am thinking about getting ZBrush Core but I am unsure how I create the final render. Can you give me some ideas? Thanks!

Pesto zbrushcore had no rendering capabilities. And you can only export color using wrml format that has limited support. I would use an external software like blender, Max or Maya for everything except sculpting in zbrushcore in it's current state.

this could be an amazing demo, but unfortunately, i have watched it 3-4 times and you miss out explaining a whole bunch of fundmental information. you are performing actions without explaining them and when i try and experiment i do not get the same results and i am left in a position of un-undoable positions. I have severe reservatios regarding the amount of good and reliable guidanceregarding anything to do with hard surface in zBrush, i cannot find any decent tutorials where any spliting or extruding is explained clearly. the user guide provided by pixelogic, is so superficial it's hopeless. I actually find this video incredibly frustrating you are really just showing off what you can do while not demosntrating anything properly sorry for the negativity, but for someone really familiar with but not 3d it is almost impossible to get any result from your demo. i have continually tried to split dynamesh objects using merge down and the bolean option and i get nothing editable or correct or even extruded nor can i select one part of the other. if you want to make tutorials, make sure that you share knowledge, not just show your knowledge otherwise call them something else
