I love how baylon said it would be a shame killing Ashoka seeing how there are so few jedi left. I know in Disney star wars it seems like alot of jedi survived order 66, but i did appreciate his character saying that. Adding depth and layers to his character like that.

I mean there were 10000 jedi at the time of order 66. Even if only 1% survived that is still 100 Jedi. And we have yet to see 100 Jedi that 'survived'. And most of them died within the reign of the empire.

The music playing while Sabine was on the speeder fit a lot, at least in my opinion. It's like a Alien rock song, and i think it's supposed to be what Sabine was listening to herself.

Yeah I've heard people complain about any non-orchestral music in Star Wars and I seriously don't get it. With such a vast, diverse universe....wouldn't one EXPECT to hear different music genres? Of course there's going to be punk rock in Star Wars. Weirdest thing to complain about IMO

@@JeremyCoolDude One of my favorite parts of the recent Jedi Survivor game was hearing the variety of in-world music you can unlock in the cantina you help improve. All of it sounds so different, while somehow still sounding extremely "Star Wars." I think the song played in this episode was no exception!

LOVED both premiere episodes!! Beautifully written, filmed, lit, acted, and scored. I do wish the pacing was a bit faster, but it’s a minor quibble in this case. These episodes have not shaken my confidence in Dave’s mission to give us this story with no unnecessary filler or side plots. I agree that Rosario Dawson was born to play Ahsoka in live action. But I have to give special mention to the late Ray Stevenson. His presence as Baylan onscreen is magnificent.

They subtly told us what Morgan Elspeth was back during her episode of Mandalorian. “Her people were massacred during the Clone Wars,” Ahsoka told Din. That combined with her name and ability to fight a Jedi like that made her being a former Nightsister an easy guess.

I think Qui-Gon got stabbed through the spine, whereas Sabine only took it to the gut. Since lightsabers cauterize, such a gut wound might be more survivable than a gunshot to the same place, which people survive in movies all the time. Plus the advanced healing tech of the world… I think it’s all medically reasonable depending on what internal organs get damaged. That said, I thought the Obi-Wan show was really sloppy with it, but I don’t mind it here.
@undie3x7
@undie3x7 Жыл бұрын
Completely agree. I don't know why people have a hard time with it. Sabine was stabbed in the side of the stomach(very survivable location) and almost immediately got medical attention. Qui Gon was stabbed more in the middle and he didn't die immediately anyway. Difference is it wasn't possible to get him medical attention. It's not that he couldn't have survived it but the circumstances prevented it. Don't know why that's a difficult concept to understand.

I appreciate your videos and honest reactions. I also just appreciate how your mind works. But, we, as a fan base have got to understand that the sequels exist in canon. Their reality is inescapable. If you are such an opponent of the sequel trilogy, then I think the best you can hope for is good content and storytelling that "bridges the gap" from original trilogy to sequels. It's so interesting having been witness to the original trilogy and to have watched the collective opinion on the prequel trilogy change so much over time. I don't fully understand the vitriol that SOME have for the sequels (not most, though the detractors are always more vociferous--was the same for the prequels). I suspect I know what is at the heart of it, but that's for another discussion.... I will sit back and try to allow myself to be transported by the stories and universe that I have loved since 1977, and hope (as I always have) that we as "fans" don't strangle and kill the very thing we claim to love so much. Keep posting and reacting as I do genuinely enjoy your honest discussion.

Qui Gon didnt have a ship right there that could take him to emergency medical treatment. I took Reva's servival as the same as Maul's: the dark side keeping them going. 22:07 I'm still not sure as to whether Sabine is Force-sensitive though. Cuz she has been trained by Kanan in saber combat, and I'm guessing Ahsoka continued that part of her training. Can she actually use the Force tho? I don't fully know. SW does have characters who are aware of and in tune with the Force (i.e. Chirrut Imwe) but is she a telekinetic?
@undie3x7
@undie3x7 Жыл бұрын
She's not. At least not any more than any other living being(i think your Chirrut reference is a good example). It's all but confirmed in the second episode. Ahsoka just decided to train her, and it's not like Ahsoka cares about Jedi protocols anyway. So, the fact that she's not force sensitive wouldn't necessarily stop Ahsoka from trying to train her further. Besides, Sabine was already trained by Kanan somewhat, like you said.
@unincognito3689
@unincognito3689 Жыл бұрын
Huyang says it himself that she isn't. Her "aptitude for the force falls short of all of them". Ofc he is a droid so he can't "sense" how strong she is with the force. But his experience with younglings is a good replacement. And I would assume he saw Sabine being trained by Ahsoka. And she also says she never had the abilities, probably meaning she never actually used the force at any point during her training.

I’m not real keen on the stabbing either, but to be fair, it was quite off to the side, and she was more seconds away from medical attention. As long as it didn’t puncture a vital organ, there’s little reason she couldn’t survive with quick medical intervention. As for the parallel to Qui Gon, he was stabbed centre gut and stuck laying on the floor for the entire time Maul waited to let Obi-Wan in and an entire saber duel. Plus Qui Gon never feared death and didn’t feel the need to artificially try to hold onto life. Regardless, I have to think Dave has a reason for doing this since he could have ended that scene in any other number of ways. I have a theory that their orange lightsabers might be Kohlan crystals (from the Master & Approntice novel) which are considerably weaker and wouldn’t cause as much damage depending where they make contact. Especially considering Kyber would be hard to come by these days, especially rare orange Kyber, they very well could be Kohlan crystals since they were (almost?) always orange.

i think the only thing i wish is that we had more context to Sabine and Ahsokas relationship as master and apprentice. We see Sabine retrieve lightsaber training from Kanan, and then we are just told now that she was in training by ahsoka after rebels. I think this is a perfectly fine development but it does feel like we are missing a season of story when you think of this as just the next season of rebels, just wish we had a book or a comic detailing more of this, cause the state that Ahsoka walked away from being a master and abandoned Sabines training, that part feels a bit rushed and would probably feel better with more context. Overall though im super excited, i think it is probably going to be very important for Ahsokas story to be a master, to be in Anakins shoes to some degree.

Lightsabers have never been as fatal as people seem to believe they are. Literally qui gon is the only major character who has died from being injured with a lightsaber from everything we have seen lightsabers are only somewhat more dangerous than a sword. The difference being they can cut through because of how hot they are which means they also cauterize the wounds. Based on where quigon was stabbed the lightsaber actually delayed his death over being stabbed with an actual sword and his world almost certainly severed the dual aorta. Because if the cauterization he had more time to move but if that had been a true sword he would have bled out extremely fast Sabine's injury was off center likely sticking only her intestines out possibly the edge of her liver. Plus Sabine was likely on the air to a hospital within seconds of being stabbed where as quigon had to wait minutes before Kenobi finished his fight with maul and even then they were deep in the middle of some factory or wherever. Mane if he had gotten stabbed near a ship and got immediate medical care he could have been saved but he wasn't everything was against him. Sabine would have needed surgery sure but her injuries are treatable even with it current medical abilities much less the more advanced tech they have in Star wars

I feel like they heavily nerfed Ahsoka and her powers... I mean, she defeated Maul, even taking him in alive. She went toe to toe with Vader, even injured him... She was basically playing with the inquisitors on Rebels... Yet here she seems to have problems with 4 droids... (look what Luke did in ep. 16 on Mandalorian with a lot more than 4 droids...). She doesn't force jump onto the ship when fleeing the explosion... She could have held back the explosion like Kanan on Rebels, she could have made a forceshield like Grogu did on Mandalore.... I feel like making Sabine, Ahsoka's padawan was unnecessary. Sabine is already an interesting character without the need to be a padawan. I think (it might still happen) it would've been better to make Hera and Kanan's son Jacen, Ahsoka apprentice instead of Sabine but I get the feeling that Disney is saving Jacen to be Ezra's apprentice. Other than that, I really loved the first 2 episodes of this series and the ending credits are definitely the best credits of any Star Wars/Marvel series on Disney+ so far.

He would be 12 years old. Yes he could've started his training, maybe we will see him casually use the force to grab something to imply this. But he ain't gonna be able to help the same way Sabine can. Even without the force Sabine would be much greater help as a mandalorian than Jacen would.

I loved the first 2 episodes but the nerfing of lightsabres irritates me. I get that biologicals loosing limbs and decapitations isn't kid friendly but just burn marks on the republic troops was lame, and it seems everyone can survive a gut piercing sabre thrust these days, 3 count so far? Grand Inquisitor, Reva and now Sabine.

So, I'm getting incredibly tired of the "retcon the Sequel Trilogy" crowd. That's not going to happen. They're not going to tell all the people who worked on them that their time and effort was a waste. Just because you didn't like it doesn't make it universally hated either. This rhetoric has to stop. You do not speak for all Star Wars fans.

Kinda sucked that it didn’t make a continuous from where “Rebels” left off at. They just pretty much made the last few moments of the last episode of Rebels Live-Action. So for me Ahsoka is Starting of a lil poorly.

Technically it's much further in the future after episode 1, maybe they have new technology that can heal stab wounds, the new republic especially

It’s been, what, 30 years since then? I’d imagine they’ve got some technological advancements by now!

Not really. He laid there with his wound for ages until Kenobi beat Maul. Sabine pretty much got immediate medical attention.

@@chazo1367if he got the immediate medical attention like Sabine did no doubt he would have survived or at the very least had a far higher chance of surviving.

@@connorredshaw7994 yeah he probably would, but he laid there for awhile whilst Kenobi was dealing with Maul, so he was pretty much done by time at that point.

hey i think in ep 1 defence we see the apprentice lady hit sabine in the side where as qui gon and others camera shows it right through middle of his chest so i think they tried to justify her surviving but tbh i am loving the series i just wish it was not set before the new movies id rather it have an alternative future from the new triology

the icons exist, you not liking them doesn't wipe them from existence and you're only prolonging your own frustration/disappointment by denying it. this generation HAS their icons and they're getting more no matter what anyone says. just get past it man, for your own good. 👍 Mtfbwy
