I completely support this new policy, it should have been done a few years ago.

If the intention was what’s said then totally agree This though It’s different these days Don’t forget the new learning strategy also starts in September The vape is a look it’s for safety Always ask , why, when and what

I totally agree with cellphones and vaping in class because it does take away from the students to really concentrate on their work and learning also but I don't agree with spending 30 million dollars in this technology and using hard earned money from all Ontario people here and their hard tax money that we all pay for. I really think that times have gotten hard and expensive to live and some people out understand that but using our hard earned money like this is unacceptable in any way.

get ready for students to assault or go against their teachers because they get their phones taken away .... no way I would let a teacher take my iPod now imagine a phone lol

Finally someone with a brain and common sense. He should be applauded. Parents that think it’s ok for kids to have cell phones in a classroom and be allowed to vape in school should maybe take a step back and think this through. Or maybe they’re just to stupid and shouldn’t be allowed to have their own kids in school. It’s time for the teachers to take back authority in the classroom. Yes your kids will live through it and be better for it. Kids really do want guide lines.

No parent thinks cells and vaping in the classroom are okay. I don't think I've ever talked to one parent that said that it was okay.

y @@user-sj1bl5sj4k I know there aren't some imaginary parents that say not paying attention in school is a good idea. No matter how much you think they exist.

My oldest son is 11 and still doesn't have a cellphone if he wants one he can pay for it himself.
@adamshame4727Ай бұрын
Unfortunately a lot of kids have no problem with that, 30% of kids in high school are paying for their own phone, (rough personal survey) and then try to pry it from their hands!

We are sort of closing the door after the horse has been stolen.... The issue is not vaping in schools, it is enforcing any rule in schools. When the principle walks into the bathroom and 4 kids are together in one stall and there is vape smoke in the air........ it seems simple doesn't it. You almost need to get a TV CSI team in to try and "prosecute" anyone. As long as they stick to a story and you don't catch the vape in anyone's hand there is little you can do. Principals are at the mercy of the board, and the board, well I don't know what they do. Past few governments want every student to graduate and they want 0 kids suspended or expelled. School in our community is currently getting reamed because their suspension rate is double their nearest competitor in the board. Rather than take the time to see if the suspensions are warranted or if it is helping the culture of the school they are retraining the administration.... And I get that kids need a voice, and I get the visible abuse by authority in the media, but the caution we take in any single decision or action is making managing a mass of young people a nightmare. Trying to deal with 30 kids with 30 cellphones every day in class with no consequence is a nightmare. If the government wants to do something, add some consequences to the rules already in place and society needs to stop treating every school suspension like a civil rights trial.

Bunch of fluffy "enforcement". accountability for teachers without any real empowerment.

I agree with this bill. I’ve started agreeing with a lot of what this government has done despite some pretty awful mistakes in the past.

Why am I not surprised that right wing biased BT will give Leece the most softball interview I've ever seen. Next time just don't bother with the interview and just say it's a propaganda segment.
