Couple's discounts, carpool lane, someone to watch your shit when you use the bathroom in a public place; it certainly has its practical uses, if you don't have a friend to fill the role. And if you wanna go a level deeper, those with social anxiety or (on a happier note) those developing language skills can use someone like that just to practice talking. Again, better with a friend, but it's an option.

In a perfectionist and non-confrontational culture, it is very hard for people to accept that fights and disagreements happens, thinking that these are signs that they are not compatible or there is no longer love there. When they are constantly put into these ideal standards, it is just natural that they end up favoring “relationships” where they have full control over the other, including the virtual ones. We need to normalize reality, aka imperfections.

The rise of incelism in Asia among men and women both impacts art too. Everything is trying to cater to that loneliness and need for a parasocial relationship, from idols, through anime, to games, and everything is getting poisoned by this gooner slop. Idols can't date. Fictional characters can't date. Everyone has to be available and breastily boob around the place. It's actually killing narratives of good shows, mangas, and games. But in their main target audience, it sells. It is sad, but also pathetic and infuriating.

I hate this, too. Mostly there are no couples in anything. Like, Isaac and Miria from Baccano. But recent anime never have established couples and it's so annoying. Even romance might be about forming a couple as an end goal, but they're single for the entire run and just tease this or that ship. I find it annoying. Couples can have great dynamics and make the story more interesting, but all the desirable singles have to stay single the entire run. And especially the women characters can't even hint that they've had previous relationships or certain people lose their minds. Harem and Otome are fine ig but they're spilling over into everything.

Never liked watching Streamers. I've found them to be really drawn out and most of the streaming is just ranting about random thoughts. I guess I'm working in human services so at the end of the day don't wanna hear any more rambling from strangers.
@buddywriggles3 күн бұрын
It's incredibly difficult to be engaging for extended periods of time, especially with the ways the internet and algorithms have evolved dopamine seeking. It's amazing how hard someone can work, only to be sharing random thoughts to be honest. That being said, I have rarely been able to sit through a stream, even from streamers I like. For me, it's the ''repeating sentences 2-3 times" that really gets me. I assume it's equal parts filling the air time, allowing for people who didn't hear the first time and recognizing that the audience comes and goes but it drives me batshit. But clearly it's just not for me, and that's fine. The whole internet doesn't need to cater to my needs and wants. (Adding this because my comment got more rambly than I intended and I don't want people to think I'm mad that I don't like something lol)
@NIGHTBLOODUSAGI3 күн бұрын
the only streams i can always stand are the ones from small streamers or channels/ones that get little viewers. they're yummy little gems and i feel like spike from mlp but i do like listening to their random thoughts, random thoughts in general are fun and i like engaging. but i feel like with bigger ones (specifically on yt idk anything else) are boring even tho they do the same thing. like theres less soul
@dowfreak73 күн бұрын
Interesting, I'm not a stream connoisseur by any means, but I have a handful that I like to hop in on. There's no real "ranting" or "random thoughts", unless you consider "conversation and storytelling" to be that, I guess. All I want from a streamer is an interesting personality and an entertaining display of some sort. Be that gaming or cooking or, yes, a good story. Funnily enough, that disqualifies most huge streamers, because I can't be arsed to type in a sea of 5k children and I'm not really interested in hearing 20 minutes to 2 hours of "thank you for the 3$ and the repetitive shit joke that wasn't funny 50 minutes ago". And with Twitch going adshit insane and most adblockers unable to catch everything, seeking out new channels feels so bad, that I just stick with the few I got. (Also, if a rant and hearing someone's thoughts is something you heavily dislike, I think you clicked on the wrong video)

Okay since Love and Deepspace was mentioned: IT‘S SO GOOD I SWEAR GUYS THE ADS ARE PAINFULLY MISLEADING- I am super serious when I say never has there been any Otome game this HQ. Yes, cringy at times. But the storytelling is super complex, every character has insanely detailed and unique backstories. The visuals are super next level for an Otome game. There are a lot of endearing events, fun Mini Games and different ways of Interacting with the characters. The general worldbuilding is also pretty immersive and another thing: Facial features in character customization are EXTREMELY detailed- sadly not with hair, skin tone or body type though. The fighting part is also fun, though you can also put it on automatic if you‘d like. I cannot stress this enough; It‘s the best Otome game there is rn and nobody can tell me otherwise TT only thing that‘s super frustrating is the gacha part but it is what it is

Love and deepspace is pretty good aside from the guys, there's actually a story line and good game play I genuinely enjoy the fighting part even though I get mad when it tells me I need to level up the cards more 😔

13:02 I used to hitchhike and hop freight trains around the country. I definitely looked the part... dreadlocks, patched carharts, generally grubby. Clearly someone who won't be in the same place long. I had people confessing their deepest secrets, sharing their greatest shame, asking advice on the most personal stuff imaginable on almost a daily basis. All of my traveler friends had the same experiences. There is definitely an impulse in people to share their most private issues with perfect strangers. Currently i work graveyard shift at a convenience store. It doesn't happen as often as when i was a traveler, but people still randomly trauma dump on me.

I did a bit of research, and these "NPC Theme Parks" are actually some Happy Valley parks in China. What society has got ourselves into...

social media highlights perfection, hides vulnerability, sets high expectations, dislikes unpopular opinions ect it’s makes you feel that your not good enough other people aren’t good enough for you and makes you wanna give up also many Asian parents don’t really care about personal development and only want results they rather you be financially safe before doing anything it can help you not end up homeless or give you a safety net but it’s makes you too inexperienced and afraid
@LauraBowКүн бұрын
I'd hire a do-nothing guy so I don't look like a lonley loser at theme parks. Being the only one on a 4 seated car because no one else wants to ride is awkward af

I was definitely addicted to a live stream for a while. I enjoyed the livestreamer noticing me and answering my questions. It wasn't a replacement for real social interaction but it was a supplement to me. It was definitely addictive. I agree with your video and how it can be extremely detrimental. I've since left the community and I feel so much better for it.

I understand this loneliness. Due to disability, I am very much stuck in my home, and it's easy to fall into if you don't find ways to alleviate it. While I don't spend money on it - social media, twitch, etc work to fill up space.
@darcy5761Күн бұрын
Why doesn't someone start lonely people clubs where they could(hopefully) interact with each other? Or are they so far gone that they can't talk to a real human being? Serious question.

I didn't expect Love and Deepspace to appear here, hehe. I started playing it recently. Definitely a Zayne fan so far, the guy who appeared in these bits in the video. 😆 I still need to get used to the scifi monster slaying story in it, that hit me by surprise. Poor Zayne is so bad with the claw machine (you can pick a male lead to go get some virtual crane game plushies with). 😂

Honestly Do Nothing Guy would be amazing to hire if I was running certain errands or wanting to spend time in the city alone but not alone. I often get approached when I am alone and I get anxious. But feel bad when I want to be selfish and not talk to a friend if I drag them along with me as a buffer. This would fix that perfectly.

Ever since I moved to Japan I feel like the para social problem here with idols and hosts and even real dating is 90% of the time a replacement for therapy. Very shocking the lengths (esp money wise) people here will go for you if they feel good talking to you. I like listening to people and i earned me some really good opportunities just by lending a coworker or colleague an ear.
@cloudyskies5497Күн бұрын
I could definitely see the use in hiring someone capable at conversation to go with you to an event where you're worried you might freeze up and not be able to advocate for yourself. Like if you have to tell something to someone who would otherwise bully you if you were by yourself. Just having an outsider there could dissuade bad behavior, and that takes the burden off your friends to do it if they're busy. Great idea imo.

Im firmly of the belief of freedom to its extreme. Like you said. If someone isnt hurting anyone else. Then who tf cares. Let em smoke crack if they wanna. But these people...they need to be stopped. Touching grass isnt enough. They need to become the grass.

Seeing as I don't know people outside of my family, I'm not burn out from relationships. I'm finding as I get older, is either I suck or other people suck, I just don't find people in real life interesting, or they already have established lives where I don't fit in, or our affinity to one another is one-sided. It's really difficult to come across people I click with.

@@killjoy8372 Yeah, glad to know someone gets it. I know for me I'm kind of scared that if I lose my family I don't have other real life connections. I partly want to make friends, real friends, so I know I have other people to trust. I've met at least one person who just fell into a situation like that, but it seems like its a rare occurrence.

Ah yes, I have recently fallen down that rabbit hole a bit as well. Been watching Hiding in my Room for years but only casually. Then I stumbled upon JinnyTty and she is very entertaining to watch. But ultimately I'm aware of the fact that these are not real relationships or social interactions. However when you're dealing with some hardcore shit like spiritual awakening, any form of distraction is welcome
