A very insightful summary, I've begun studying postcolonialism and orientalism, to understand the geopolitical situation of the Middle East and the Muslim World in general, after the fall of the Ottoman Caliphate and Edward Saids' works have proved to be very beneficial. Thanks for the summary, it was very useful!

@Umar Majeed Salam I am also studying it at the moment but I am approaching the problem from several angles, notably that of Africa and also, like you, that of the Muslim world I would like you to recommend some books and documents that could help me in my research on colonialism and postcolonialism. Thank you

@@zenttofrizzy8479 Salaam bro, first I'd recommend The Road To Mecca, by Muhammad Asad, who was of Jewish descent but converted to Islam and quite interestingly became the first official citizen of Pakistan. The book is about his journeys' surrounding the Islamic World after the fall of the Ottomans. There's also a number of journal articles that you could read, if you're searching for a particular field, e.g post colonialism in Africa, through the JSTOR platform which has thousands of articles from a broad variety of scholars. Thanks, Umar

I have this book and was fortunate to attend one of Dr. Said's lectures in the 90s. I remember the neocons shamefully attacked him as a terror supporter after 911 and tried to have him cancelled.

AsSalāmu ‘Alaykum wa Rahmatullāhi wa Barakātuhū Amazing Khatirah Shaykh. Just one small thing. The hadith you mention at 14:36, which can be found in Sahih Bukhārī 3062. At the end of the hadith it says fajir, and from the video I heard kafir. وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَيُؤَيِّدُ هَذَا الدِّينَ بِالرَّجُلِ الْفَاجِرِ. I checked through different Turuq as well, I have not found “kafir” instead of “fajir”, but I could be deficient in my research. Jazākallāhu Khaira, May Allah bless you Shaykh!!

No. That is opening a can of worms for him. Yasir Qadhi kinda believes that you shouldn’t rock the Hadith boat because the amount of faulty parts that will fall out may sink the boat.

Thank you for opening eyes. I live in a wester country. You can study Islam in my country, but it isn't really Islam. It's orientalism. The studies are really biased and not objective.
