Forever ago, Edwin McCain did a small set in St Louis as part of a fundraiser for our children’s hospitals. I was volunteering when he came in. He’s… he’s just a good guy. He was as sweet and goofy, then as he seems to be now. The line “I’ll be better when I’m older“ became so heartbreaking to me as some of the kids that he interacted with, and played for, never made it to adulthood. Bittersweet memories. His heart and kindness will always be remembered, in addition to his voice. I love every aspect of this song, and the bassist’s harmonies are perfect

Fame isn't fun for most people. He got incredibly rich from his single smash hit, as a fellow musician I can testify that being recognized everywhere would get old really quickly. He made the best decision for himself letting his fame career go.

@skydriver5709 Жыл бұрын
@steve58133 He left music after he had kids and decided to focus on being a Father and Husband. His kids are grown now, and he's back making music... but he's a talented singer and song writer, so the music audience today has little interest. Kids today like autotune and guys who sound like SOY when they sing.
@alika20711 ай бұрын
He also made the conscious choice to not do what you need to do to maintain the career of a huge star. He is perfectly content being a singer songwriter for fans of indie artists.

My wife & I have been fortunate to have seen Edwin a few times in concert and he never disappoints. He gives 110% each and every show. Caught him in Charleston opening for Hootie several years ago and without a doubt best concert I have ever been privileged to be a part of.

It is amazing when an artists sounds just as good live as they do on recording. Edwin is killing it - no autotune for you my friend!!!

A basist who can carry himself smoothly with an acoustic guitarist alone, is a real artist- not hiding behind the drums!

Sometimes when an artist tweaks the melody a bit during a live show it kind of ruins the song. Not this one. Wow. What an awesome rendition and what an incredible voice he has. He does perfect justice to a beautiful song. I'm glad I found this.

What the fuck! He is the original singer ang the writer of this song. He will never do a rendition of his own song, everytime he will sing this song it will be the original always.
