ARE WE CRAZY??? We SOLD Our House To TRAVEL FULL TIME!!!

We are officially empty nesters as our last child has decided to go out on his on and found an apartment… so we decided to sell our house! We travel so much already it makes sense to travel full time and we have our van (ELLY) to live in on the road and when when at home in Alexandria… so we don’t need a house… right???

You're young enough and you have your health. GO FOR IT! I lost my husband 17 months ago..so happy we got to travel every chance we had and did wait to retire. Although I miss him so much the memories are priceless. God Bless.

My husband and I travelled far and wide too and had a wonderful time. Unfortunately I had a stroke and the long journeys are no longer possible. Am I glad that we did it when I was fit. Enjoy yourselves...this is the right decisiion.

We did this. I'm retired Navy and sold our house in 2009 and was full time RV. We lived in a few different large 5th wheel trailers and it was great at the time. But live can throw you a curve ball. My wife was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and we lived with her parents for almost a year while she went through chemo and treatment and the RV was in storage. We made the decision that RV life was not in our life anymore and sold the RV. The really ironic thing is that the house we sold in 2009 was on the market for sale and we bought it again in late 2019 and living in it today. Wife is doing great, a paramedic and just made Captain with Virginia Beach EMS Services.

My husband and I are at that stage in our lives too where we are empty nesters. But we can’t just travel full time because we are still working and just don’t have that freedom. What I liked is that you did end up buying another house! A new and even better house! You just never know what’s gonna happen with your kids and a van would get rather small after awhile ( just my opinion). Sounds like you made the best decision and you are still gonna travel so win win!!

I’m in the same situation. No more children to raise. I’m recently retired but my husband isn’t. 😢 Being able to live this lifestyle and being able do what this lovely couple are doing is difficult and not possible for most. I’m sure they’re grateful for that as well.

Congratulations on all the new changes!! Your coming to my neck of the woods, I’m in Calgary 90 minutes east of a Banff, you’ll love the ride from Vancouver on the train, it’s beautiful. We travel by car or RV between Calgary and Vancouver at least 4 times a year, and the scenery is breathtaking!!
