I am 68 years old. For the entire time I have lived about 15 miles from Belfast. I would avoid going there as much as possible and when I see the cruise ships sailing up Belfast Lough, I always wonder just what it is they find so fascinating about the place. So now I know. So a massive thank you to yourselves. This really has been highly educational for me.

If you’re ever in Halifax Nova Scotia, we have a small exhibit ( Museum of the Atlantic) of the Titanic and the part we played in the rescue and recovery. Also there is a Titanic tour which includes the graveyard .

Your British Isle Series is so very timely for me. Going on one next summer and you give me confidence that I can plan our port days on my own instead of going with an excursion through the ship. That’s so much!

According to Emma from the EMMA CRUISES channel (which is a wonderful channel, btw!), La Havre is actually quite a miserable port stop, billed as a “Paris” stop, but in reality an industrial port more than 80 MILES away, with almost Nothing to do in the actual town itself (a lot like Ensenada, actually!)…Cork, according to my daughter, who did a monthlong “class abroad” tour of Ireland in 2019, is Absolutely Delightful so you guys Really Lucked out!😊

We were in Belfast in September. The little booths at the Crown bar are called snugs and our group managed to get one. Got very lucky. Also the best thing we did there was the Black Cab tour. Highly recommend going on one. It really helped to understand the history of “the troubles”

So glad you loved Belfast - one of my favourite cities too. My husband used to live in NI so he knows it much better than I do, but I'm learning! A pint of Belfast Black in McHugh's is one of my favourite things, but there are so many great pubs in Belfast it's hard to have just one favourite.

I so have to go back to Belfast. We had to miss the Titanic museum because it was closed for a momentous event when we were there (2012). We didn't actually see too much of the rest of the city either because we took a bus tour around the top of Northern Ireland. One of the best bus tours I've ever taken. The city itself was much nicer in 2012 than when I first went over in '94. I didn't even think of going into Northern Ireland back then. (Except for the fact I accidentally drove over the border where there wasn't a manned border check. That was wacked!)

The museum sounds amazing. When we were on a NGL ship that stopped at Halifax, NS. We went to Titanic museum the guide took us around showing us items and telling us us about the fatal. Trip. When she was showing us child’s shoe she started crying. It was a very solemn moment. I did not go to the cemetery where many victims were buried including J. Dawson.

Hello from Ireland, Loved your Belfast stop over, really hope you got to visit the Titantic Hotel, beside the museum, this building is the original offices of Harland & Wolff, the offices are restored to there 1900's decor & the bar was the drawing office where Titanic was designed, also great for food. Hope went you stopped in Cobh (pronounced Cove) you visited Titantic museum there, I think its better then Belfast. You really need to do a longer holiday just in ireland

It’s funny you mentioned it, 1911. It seems anything that flies or floats etc…with those numbers associated to them, end up badly. Not always but in history there’s been a lot of plane crashes with the number 9 and 1. I saw a documentary on it once.

Hi guy's. Love Ireland, have family there who live in County Cork. Been there a few times and seen most of Ireland. It's so beautiful. I love the tiny fish, always know we were heading in the right direction. Lol Yes, I knew there were red fish going the wrong way. The Titanic museum is a must see. The Crown Bar is always busy. Regarding the Crown Bar. Don't feel intimidated about going in if it looks busy. The Crown is unique in that it's owned by the National Trust, who look after historic houses that they open to the public usually. They run this as a pub with a pre 1960s feel to it, which also attracts locals wanting to get the old fashioned feel. It's a great place for a tourist to get into a chat with a local [avoid politics and sport]

The worst irony about the Titanic disaster was, had the night watch NOT gotten through to the bridge when they did, and the crew began to try to steer clear of the iceberg and, instead, hit the iceberg dead on, the ship would’ve likely been severely damaged, but the watertight compartments wouldn’t have been sliced open, and the ship probably wouldn’t have sunk…most of the dead actually either drowned or froze
