........non l'avevo mai sentita in Norma. ma è pazzesca, una voce omogenea in tutta la gama, piena di armonici anche nelle note basse, senza un buco..........................favolosa, considerando che era pure un soprano di coloratura.

It's incredible! Her voice is much darker and brilliant then in Parma. Much more dramatic too! And the the top E always there!!

@robertdonkers Your description of Sutherland vis a vis Deutekom IMO is so on point and Deuetekom is tremendous here what a voice!!!!! Joan had the trills nailed and a more accurate coloratura. Joan said that probably no one soprano could fully have the goods for Norma. I wish there were more of Ponselle recorded. as Norma. Regards-John
