After my unboxing and review video on my TechGooch Channel, here we have the actual full setup procedure of the eero Router System. My Eero has some kind of issue. It works fine if I plug it into my modem with a short cable. But when I use a 30+ft. Cable, it doesn’t want to connect. Anything you think might cause that?

Why did you have to connect ethernet when you installed the 2nd one in your bedroom? Do you have to have the main one connect to the Ethernet (one next to the IP Modem)?

Anyone know how to keep a hardline into my modem to my PC after the fact that the Eero has taken control of the network? I don't have a pro so I'm losing speed. I would like to hardline into the modem but the Erro seems to cut connectivity off on the additional ports. Any ideas? I am currently running from the erro directly and it works but I'm losing speed.

I have ATT internet with a modem/router combo. It wouldn’t handle all my devices, so I added my old Apple Express. Connected it to the extra Ethernet connection point on the ATT modem/router. Solved the multiple device issue. I just ordered the Eero pro. I will remove the old Airport Express and plug this in to the ATT equipment. You said to push the disconnect shown on the software. Does that disconnect the existing Airport Express I’m removing, or the ATT router? I don’t want to lose that connection. Will my ATT Wi Fi still work? At present, my wi fi in settings gives me the choice of clicking ATT wi fi or my airport express.

You need the eero router first then the beacon hooks up to the eero router

Big question, can you plug a computer (without WiFi) into the Ethernet port to get a signal to it, and second part, if you can, does that Trump the WiFi output of the device. Ex. I have my modem downstairs. I have three computers and two printers upstairs, one computer without WiFi.

+David Cho without a hard wire Ethernet extension, it would depend on your home since it would be a wifi connection between the two eero's, but yes, you would need two or more for Extension purposes

+Marcy H if you want to connect multiple devices to your modem, you have to use a router, or in this case the eero. You can add a Ethernet switch the the router or eero unit to share multiple Ethernet connections

That's because it's a modem. Even newer modems with 2 ports don't operate like a router or switch. It has 2 separate isp lines for aggravation and failover. You need a router combo.

Whenever you change your SSID and Password the devices that were previously connected to the router will require you to "Update the password" or in some cases the devices won’t recognize the new SSID.

No, you could use it with an existing router and just use the eero as the WiFi access point system, you just don't have to do it that way.

I have the Aris modem like yours and looking to replace my old AirPort Extreme. So I bought a 2 pk eero 6 router with a Black Friday price. I keep seeing mixed reviews on it but just wondering if you still use this model eero? I don't have gigabit speed at home but rather fast internet. I was texted today the eero I purchased is ready for pick up but for some reason getting second thoughts? Any feedback will be appreciated:)

I do not, I constantly change routers. Currently I am using my Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro setup, which will probably remain my main system while I review others. I have not yet tested the Eero 6 router so I don't have thoughts directly on that model.

Pretty simple, get a multi-port gigabit switch. Plug one port of the switch into the free port of the eero and there you go!

Thanks for the vid. You plugged # 1 directly into the cable modem, but # 3 (Bedroom) you put behind your main router. Thinking it would be Modem --> Router/Switches --> the Eeros? Regards & thanks again for the video

Not that it is currently affecting your setup currently, but you should re-crimp your RJ45 connectors so that the PVC jacket is actually inside of the connector itself and enough inside so that when crimped the plastic locking tab/jacket clamp comes down unto the PVC jacket.
