Thank you. Excellent video. I recently had to evacuate and charge my mini split but did not know about this tool. Does the EEV need to be manually opened to ensure a proper evacuation and that the liquid refrigerant finds it's way into the outdoor condenser? Very inspiring video.

Thanks for watching! With a 1to1 minisplit it is not critical to open the EEV manually for evacuation as there is only 1 metering device. Therefore, there is no potential for refrigerant to become trapped.

Couldn't find one of these for Fujitsu eevs so had to make my own, 6 mini neo mags and a bit of conduit did the job, works a treat saved $200!

EEVs have to rotate instead of being pushed/pulled. Use a segmented magnet It will rotate to EEV valve core when turned. Amazon carries them. It may work if you take one or more of those doughnut magnets and break them into semi-circles and put them back together.. One end becomes north and the other will be south.

Weatherallreps mags work for Daikin valves ?

I have tried to cut 2 of those open now with a dremel tool and both time I cut the magnet. What did you use to cut it open?
@quentinbutlerhvac5410 Жыл бұрын
Copper cutters

@@quentinbutlerhvac5410 Thanks, I tried those last week and it pressed the steel housing inwards and pinched the magnet. New blade and went the slowest I ever had with copper cutters.

Have you found a source for the 17.5mm daikin manual magnets
@quentinbutlerhvac54102 жыл бұрын
I primarily use the Carel magnet set for all Daikin valves. They are a little loose but have no issue turning the valves closed. Thanks for watching!

You can just take an old eev motor cut the wires off and it will open and close those valves
@quentinbutlerhvac5410 Жыл бұрын
Hmm.. Not with any valves that I’ve worked with. The EEV motor is essentially just a coil / stator. Without anything energizing / magnetizing the coil, it doesn’t have the ability to turn the magnet (rotor).

@quentinbutlerhvac5410 i removed an EEV magnet, i also cut out the valve section and tested the magnet by blowing into the valve, rotating the magnet clockwise closed the valve while rotating it anticlockwise opened the valve, confirmed by me blowing into it. So it does work. For some reason this experiment stopped working after i played around with it for a few minutes. I dont know if the valve got stuck open or if the magnet stopped working
