I was in high school when I watched him sing this beautiful song on the Andy Williams show in 1965. Bobby owns this song. No auto tunes, just pure raw talent. RIP Bobby. We miss hearing your beautiful voice. ❤🙏

Loads of singers have sung this song but none do it better than Bobby Hatfield. No auto tune or gimmicks just pure talent. The studio version of this song was used in the movie 'Ghost' and was great but this live version is stupendous. He had a cold, his parents were in the audience watching him perform live for the first time and he suffered with stage fright. Watch how when he reaches the high notes at the end his face does not contort like other singers when reaching a high note. He just bites his lip and smiles as if to say I nailed it.

This is the perfect song to dance with your love 🙂

Bobby Hatfield was one of the greatest singers ever, this song I read was covered by around 600 artists to me his is the best. When he teams up with Bill Medley they belt out such great songs as You Lost that Loving Feeling Soul and Inspiration Just once in my life. They were on 🔥🔥🔥 doing Little Latin Lupe Lu and The Night time is the Right Time. Best of success with yr channel

They were funny guys but no history lesson, they were just joking. Anyway im 45 and this is literally the _only_ version tbh. The only version you slow dance with your love to. It brings tears to the listeners for nostalgia, lost love, or the love they seek. Deep down most tears come from the desire to be loved deeply by someone.

Love your reaction, to this great performance !! Bobby was a true "Counter Tenor" and in the last few notes he used his "head voice". He never needed to use falsetto. In this song Bobby uses 21 notes across 2-1/2 octaves. What a SINGER !! Keep up the good work !! also that night he had a slight cold and his parents were in the audience for the first time. The song was writtten for the movie "Unchained". A 1955 movie about prison life in California.

yes, it is a Live performance, in 1965, and no auto tune = just pure effortless 3-octave range vocals.

No computerized music, or AI or Auto tune. True talent didn't need all that shit. The full orchestra with real musicians...just incredible. Bobby died at age 63 on tour with his other Righteous Brother Bill Medley who sings the lower notes. They are not real Brothers. Bobby died at 63 in November 2003 in the hotel from a heart attack before the show they were about to do in Kalamazoo MI, just less than an hour from my house. Obviously a distraught Bill cancelled the show. I almost bought tickets but was too busy teaching school music. When I heard the news on the car radio the next morning IK pulled over and cried. I grew up with this music and I knew what a loss this was to my generation. It's amazing Bobby still melts the women in their chairs from his grave when they see this.

Remember this was live T V back in 1965, and Bobby had just got over a cold. RIP Bobby.

Somehow, the guy in this video gave a vibe that he was in competition with the singer for the lady next to him. She sat there like she was concerned about the guy next to her as if he might be jealous...which resulted in both parties being very reserved and unexpressive out of what the other person might be thinking.
