Running session of the EFE Rail Class 58 58039 EWS Livery Diesel Locomotive (Weathered Edition)
EFR-E84008 with a Hornby R7336 HM7000 8-pin TXS bluetooth DCC sound decoder with Diesel Class 56 sound profile installed, pulling a rake of Hornby R6288A/B/C Seacows.
The speaker used is the sugar cube speaker provided with the decoder.

It sounds quite realistic. I once lived by a railway for many years and would not want to recreate those days! I think I might reduce the volume a bit as sound effects like this can give you tinnitus! Thanks for uploading.

Yes, this definitely one of the better TXS sound profiles. That said, I wouldn't fancy having to hear this at the back of the house every day!

Thanks Ciaran, the Class 56 profile I used does sound pretty good. It's the same prime mover as the Class 58 so pretty authentic also.

Yeah, the Class 56 sound profile does a good job. I was pleased with it and the loco itself was a flawless runner - the Seacows were not but that's another story.

Very impressive. These new Hornby decoders appear to give good motor control even in other manufacturers' locos. Did you need to tweak any CVs? Sounds are good as well. For the money, they seem brilliant. Thanks for posting.

The only thing I had to do was tweak the CV5 setting as this loco can do a scale speed that is much higher than the max speed of a real Class 58. I used a setting of CV5 in the 180-190 range to bring down the max speed and improve the level of control. Otherwise that was it. These decoders do provide a good level of motor control alright. The loco itself was also an excellent performer. I didn't install a power pack and it didn't need it - not one stall even on insulfrog points and diamonds.

Hi can you help please I have put a HM dcc 7000 txs into my A3 loco { Hornby } the sound is fine but when I run the loco up the track after awhile it stops moving but the sound continues it dose this on different parts of the track have you any clue to what might be causing this problem .regards.

Hi Tony, was the A3 a clean runner on DC with no decoder installed? What source of track power are you using and are you using DCC or Bluetooth control? When the loco stops does it start moving again of it's own accord or do you have to intervene in some way?

@@EuviRail Hi thanks for getting back it runs fine on dc. I installed the HM dcc TXS app onto my iPad and ran from there, I have had no trouble with other locos the power pack is a gaugemaster prodigy advance, I did not have the hand set connected to the power pack though when linking up this loco to the app to the app. hope that helps. i look forward to your help regards Tony ps i have no idea how to contact people on KZbin other than this method hope you understand.
