This PSHE CPD training session has been developed for PSHE professionals delivering class based PSHE within a school or educational establishment. It is designed to help:
• build your PSHE subject knowledge, skills and understanding
• develop high-quality, holistic, needs-led PSHE provision in schools
• increase understanding about children’s development and how this relates to their life choices and opportunities
The training is for individual, group or whole school staff CPD. It is advised that when used with groups of staff, the PSHE Leader should first engage with the training to familiarise themselves with the content and ensure it meets the needs of the wider group. Content and learning that is most relevant, along with timings, should be noted so that the session can be paused at specific places to involve the thoughts and reflections of staff in a considered and safe way. The ways in which the training supports the wider school culture, values, relationships, whole school policies and procedures will be significant.
To support effective engagement with this CPD staff should firstly be familiar with the on-demand session: PSHE Essentials: ground rules, learning agreements and charters, • PSHE Essentials: Groun...
Effective PSHE Pedagogy and Practice: attitudes, values and equalities is one of three sessions. The sessions can be accessed in any order however this session is designed to be accessed after both ‘essential principles’ and ‘attitudes, values and equalities’.
