Now this is what i call a good video about takedowns. The first and third takedown i find the best, i am gonna try the third next time. That seems the best because you have his back fully. I looked this up because people always tend to try to headlock takedown me. But i always escape and take his back/side you know what i mean, just a half step to the takedown position from this video. Thank you very much

@staysafemartialarts this is a great video. I would love more on this topic. My 11yo daughter is practicing these with me, and then tries them out in bjj class. Thanks!

What is the name of that 2nd takedown!?
@Lepers085 ай бұрын
Nice takedowns but couple of those look pretty dangerous for the near leg getting caught as the knee goes sideways for the training partner

Is the kicking takedown legal in bjj?
@staysafemartialarts2 жыл бұрын
No but there are other ways that work really well. I plan to do another video covering more

How do you counter this?

You defend and get squared up. Dont let them take your back

That side grip looks more vulnerable to eating an elbow.

You are not intending to stay there. If he's busy trying to elbow you he is more susceptible to a takedown which is the point of changing the position
