Attention: Even though this plugin has been marked as being Beta there are multiple reports of the OS being unable to start etc if this plugin is installed. This plugin is use at own risk. In 6.13 this plugin will most likely be marked as being incompatible as native support for VM Backups etc will be incorporated directly within the OS

This is still the situation. There is "appdata backup" which I have been using. Maybe AlienTeck42 would do a video using that instead. It is a very good topic and I like the way you cover it @AlienTech42 so thank you.

@4:11 it is implied that easybackup will create the network share and the subfolders. Easybackup will not, you have to create the share yourself as well as the subfolders such as containers, flash, and domains. easybackup will create subfolders for the individual containers and vms. If you try to run a backup without a share or subfolder it will get stuck trying to backup to a non-existing share and subfolder.

Thank you for all these useful videos, I get a lot out of it! I have backed up my dockers now without any problems, but I do get some kind of error message with my VMs; 'NO GUEST AGENT!'. I have no idea what that means, and google or the unraid knowledge base can't help me either. Do you have any ideas?

I have not seen that one before. I do know that the next Unraid version will have VM snapshots so that will be a fantastic feature! It I find any info on that error I will post it here.

Thank you for sharing this app. i am pretty new to unraid and had the unfortunate experience of a corrupted docker.img file. so i had to reset and rebuild. luckily all of my installed app templates were there. From the app menu i selected previous installations selected all the ones i wanted to restore and got them all back with my settings still in place within a few minutes. I love the idea of backups, am i missing something here? does easybackup provide additional backup for dockers that i am not seeing?

Thanks for video, wanted a way to backup my VMs. How do you do a restore for VMs?

Same as the dockers, just unzip the vdisk.img file from the backup_internal\domain\... file location. Then browse to the share domains\'VM folder' and copy it there.

What if I want to backup shares to another unraid server?

I use rsync for that. I have plans to do a guide on setting that up.
