Beth I love your channel. I’ve recently purged my wardrobe down to pieces I love most. Like you, I live in the south where it ranges from 70-100F about 7 months out of the year. A lot of my clothes are all-season, and even in summer, I wear a light sweater, jacket, blazer or pashmina if I’m going to be in a store, church, office, etc. I do love my jeans because they’re so easy, but instead of them being my daily go to (usually with a cotton tee or tank) I’m ready for a change, so the ideas in this video are great! Now that I have a smaller wardrobe I can see more of what I have, & I want to start wearing more of my summer dresses, plus putting together outfits with dressier tops-like knits, silks, shells, blouses, crisp white shirts-with nice slacks, skorts, & skirts. Since I’ve been lazy & not used to wearing these much, it’s going to require more thought. My question is: When you go to your closet to pull an outfit together, where do you begin? My goal is to wear everything at least once a season so I’m trying to figure out how to keep track of that, too. All suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you!

I always start with the weather then the occasion. Those two factors rule everything! If it's a gloomy day maybe I'll add a pop of color. If it's a warm summer day maybe it'll be neutrals. Thanks for stopping by!

I was assessing my denim this weekend and realizing I need to get a fresh pair of boyfriend jeans. 👖❤ I have a super casual lifestyle but I don’t like looking too T-shirty during the summer months so my go-to jeans are my boyfriend cut since they are loose and comfy and I can roll up the bottoms. I took note of the more dress type blouse/shirt you wore with yours and I think that would make a perfect go-to look for an evening outdoor dinner this summer. This makes me smile. In the 90’s I forbade my daughter wearing ripped jeans to high school, telling her that it was disrespectful; and that while she could wear the ripped jeans after school and on weekends, she needed to learn the difference between a casual vs a school/ work wardrobe. She sneaked her ripped jeans out of the house and changed clothes at school and was caught and scolded. Her yearbook was full of teasing comments about the incident. Today, at age 40 she wears slightly distressed jeans, but I have never seen her in ripped jeans; and certainly not to her job as the successful manager of multiple event venues.
