I think the material of the jeans also makes a big difference if they can look elegant. Thin skinny jeans with a lot of spandex always look cheap, while a good quality, 100% cotton denim in a more tailored cut can look really elegant when styled properly, in my opinion! Yes! Honestly I think 1-2% spandex (and the rest cotton!!) can look fine as well. But it's funny how quickly things go down hill once the spandex content gets any higher than that, and also if the jeans are made of any blend of fabric besides just cotton.

I love that you are thinking about women in various stages of life, Anna. Elegance is not just for women who have "arrived" financially. It's for everyone and we can ALL start being elegant exactly where we are. By doing this video, you are being inclusive towards college students, mums with young children, and women who still must do their own housework or gardening. My one addition is that we SHOULD wear a lovely belt with jeans if we are tucking our top in. Belt loops have a purpose and it looks cheap and like something is missing without a belt. Plus, if you have to bend over, a belt prevents the jeans from moving.😬 Of course, do your best to match your belt to your footwear.🇨🇦♥️

I've always despised wearing jeans. I feel like in high school it was a necessity to just throw on jeans and a cute top and make sure enough you get to school on time! Now that I am more aware of the other comfortable options for pants, ill never go back to denim except in certain times and places. I always felt wayyyyy to casual in jeans. Trousers are now my go to bottom and now I shop by material.

I own a lot or skinny jeans but I always wear them inside a knee high boot of some sort of pointy heeled shoe. I agree 100% that the wrong shoes can absolutely destroy your look when it comes to skinny jeans. If you want to wear ankle boots then the boot-cut jeans are the best option.

Light colours don't work for everyone. Your hair colour it's undertone along with skin colour undertone eye colour undertone and veins is how you decide colour of the clothes that work for you. Light colours can make certain seasonal coloured people look extremely dull

Bootcut jeans are my favorite cut. I have two pair from Old Navy which stopped making this precise color rise style design cut and length of jean nearly seven years ago, maybe even ten years ago. They recently (2018) developed holes in the thigh areas and I was upset at the prospect of throwing them away as they fit me BEAUTIFULLY!! So I found a decently priced wedding dress tailor shop and not ONLY did she patch up the thigh area perfectly, she also hemmed them perfectly to where they're still long but don't drag on the ground. I paid $20 for this service for both pairs. When you find a cut that fits, keep them!

I am 62 and I love to wear dark gray jeans. Especially not to tight. I wear jeans with pumps or other kind of shoes with heels. But not so high heels because I don't need my back have pain.

This may be less of a level-up tip but more ‘stay alive’ tip: wear bright and fresh colours in the winter! The dark gloomy weather combined with darker clothing will make it hard for drivers to see you on the road. Stay alive ladies, make yourself visible 😜 also studies show, the brighter the winter colours you wear, the better your mood is!

Skinny jeans kinda work if you pair it with a nice tunic kinda top or sleeveless silk blouse ( I don’t own that many to be honest, returned a couple yesterday lol ) but I’ll be honest, i did put them away when I was 15 lbs heavier and waited for me to shrink down a bit before diving in again!

I haven't worn blue jeans for many, many years because they look sloppy and everyone else wears them. I hate following the crowd. However, other colors are okay. I agree that skinny jeans with boots or feminine flats or heels are flattering. Not the current bulky military boots which make feet look huge!

A couple years ago I bought a jean in a very dark blue, 40s/Marlene Dietrich style. I don't know if you'd consider them elegant but the are very comfortable to me.

At my work, we pay to wear blue jeans on Fridays as a fundraiser. It's nice to see how many of us raise money for our town. I just wish you would have given us more ideas on how to style them because I participate in the program and am stuck looking casual. I often pair them with a silk top and a nice blazer. I personally don't really care for jeans and could live without them.

Basically I agree to Anne’s point of view 90%. 10% of what she said I think was too subjective and overkill. Everybody should have a little bit of private time in a day that he/she doesn’t have to be “ elegant, stylish or graceful “, so he/she can entirely relax and doesn’t care other people’s options !

I have in mind for quite some time to buy myself a light gray pair of jeans. Also I've noticed that jeans/pants in solid colors are way more elegant and classy than the jeans with that typical... jeans pattern.

I wear more and more tailored pants thanks to Anna. But I do have one amazing light blue skinny jeans that I wear a lot casually. It fits perfectly. I am fortunate to have quite long legs in comparison to the rest of my body. I think if the jeans fit well with your body type it can be a good choice but for me it was rare to even find 1 jeans that fits me perfectly.

I have seen elderly Parisian women elevating their elegant look with high-waisted or mid rise, straight cut, dark blue denim & it's so effortless. They usually pair it with monochrome ankle boots. A loose blouse tucked to show the waist shape and coat to match.

I love to wear jeans! I have found and wear the style most flattering to my body shape. No skinny, mom, super faded, no over ripped. I invest in a quality jean, dark denim, flare or boot cut.

Exactly that! Being an american and a cowgirl....well horsey..elegance is a great pair of dark flair Jean's with a nice shirt and simple belt with a fitted jacket! Come to think of it my english riding pants were also flair leg beige with a baby blue blouse and darker blue riding jacket. I still look good in my flair leg Jean's with a longer top that covers my rear and that at 67. I have never owned a pair of tight leg Jean's btw I clock in at 4'10"" and I have a knack for wearing clothes that make me appear much taller. I've had people I've known for years be standing next to me then look at me dumbfounded saying in all the years they have known me they never realized I was so short! Good work on the video,
