It’s a relaunch as this was out many years ago but came with a draw string and it’s a good product and a shame when it was no longer available, so good news it’s back. As it’s a smooth bore, on one job we directly buried 70 metres without the need for duct pits and the cable pulled through with ease.

Around 1910 my grandad ran conduit top to bottom ( including lights and switch boxes ) around the spiral stone staircase in the local church’s bell tower. 3/4” using a wooden block with a hole in it. The conduit is still there

Considering every 25yrs they are meant to Re-Wire, It should've been Replaced 4 Times as (if it was) Steel suffers from rust & Bell Towers aren't Air Tight so that 114yr old Conduit By Now Would've Turned to Dust

I brought my Ash bending block home from a job. My Dad thought it was a spare bit of wood and used it as a strut when he built his allotment shed. Probably still there. 😂

I’m a householder with an interest, rather than an electrician. I want to connect a bungalow to outbuilding with a buried cable containing power and data and was thinking of some kind of ultra. Originally considering armour but maybe something like this tube containing regular ultra - or perhaps separate cables so I can go to CAT6 - i think ultra only goes up to CAT5e - might work.

tbh in that case I'd lay a decent sized perforated conduit and pull through high-tuff cables. That way there is no risk of water sitting in the tube.

Data & Power Cables Need To Be Minimum of 3 Inches Apart as Power is Alternating Current (AC) back & forth always & Data is low power in or out, The Disruption to your data would be constantly Intermittent signal, put the Data in a roll or Plumbing Push-Fit pipe & use Drain Pipe for the Power 1m below the surface use Pipe Weld on the Drain Pipe Joints to Seal the joints H2° Tight, the power should also be supplied via 16mm armoured from your mains with a 50amp breaker 1st from the main switch done the tested by a Qualified Electrician. You can put in the cables, sockets, lights, switches but it Has to be Tested & Power Connected by An Electrician who is Test & Inspect Qualified

@@simonmatthewwright1221 makes sense. Might use the ultra just for the car charger and have separate data and power going between the buildings. Thanks

It is a plumbing pex-al pipe with black exterior 😅😂 I’ve used that occasionally as a conduit many years ago 😂

Use plumbing Push-Fit, I'm sure it will be an awful lot cheaper

Looks really good suggestion for cable manufacturers why don't they put mark on the Tube or cable with suggested clipping or saddle points

Does it always have to be earthed if you have 230 VAC TPI wire inside it ?
@MrIbib
@MrIbib 3 ай бұрын
It’s a bit of a grey area. All exposed metal parts should be earthed, but is the aluminium sheath exposed? You could say it’s not. However, considering it’s so easy to earth, why wouldn’t you?

Now that's an excellent product. It's going to make life so much simpler for commercial and industrial electricians. Well done, Marshall Tufflex and thanks for sharing guys.
