Thank you for answering my question regarding the alcohol. It seems to be a long lived myth that Elvis was a stern abstainer from alcohol, and every time i have tried to tell people it wasnt so they never believe it. Thank you!

Vernon looked over 6 feet tall, and bigger than Elvis. In pictures from 1956-57, Elvis' father looked much bigger than Elvis, less so post army, probably because of Elvis' lifts. In your Elvis and the Memphis Mafia book in the 1990s, you said that your Uncle Vernon was 6-1 or 6-2 and Elvis under 6 feet. Your book, Red and Sonny West's book in 1977 and Charlie Hodges book in 1980s all mentioned that Elvis wore lifts in his footwear. Thank you for keeping his wonderful personality alive, you are good family members.

Great Stories Billy & Jo. You might need to keep a glass or container of Water handy Danielle like Elvis did for that dry throat! Appreciate everything you do keeping the channel going for us all Dani, with everything else you juggle! Family, work etc. Interesting question about Elvis's & Billy's Christmases before fame. You have to keep in mind the "Smiths" wouldnt have been able to "put on Spread" like people do these days. Lots of Food,Drinks etc. They werent "well off " or able to provide a lot extra, due to their circumstances as we all know back then so just enjoying each others company would have meant more to them. Funny about Platform(lifts) shoes the guys & girls(my sister) wore them a lot in the 1970s, Disco days John Travolta etc. Love Jo's recall of Memories!🥰. Funny. I read in a book Gladys wasnt too keen on family or people being drunk around her, she told one of her family to come back to visit when they were sober & not before. Perhaps thats why Elvis didnt like "excessive" drinkers around him. They get out if control. Theres nothing wrong with one now & then like Jo said with Elvis. Question? How did it come about that Elvis sang American Trilogy? I read some where that Priscilla said she brought it to Elvis, just wondering how that came about for Elvis. I would love to see a movie made about Elvis that is Elvis through my eyes, starting with Billy's first memories. This movie would go from one good deed to another. The end would show the sadness Billy felt when he lost Elvis. It would be hard to get all the good deeds in one movie.

I read about that too and I think Elvis hit him and had him taken off the plane and then kept apologizing for making him bleed. Sonny must have seen those pictures, he might be the one that told this info. That guy figured he was going to be gone. What made Elvis so mad is he trusted these guys and then he stole from him.
