Please ask EG4 to create a “Flex Boss Lite” for those of us running AC-coupled solar (microinverters). In this case a Gridboss would be used as the transfer switch, micro grid, solar (smart) connection and battery connection(s). In that case the current Flexboss is overkill. I would like a smaller and lower cost version. If this smaller version can be directly mounted on top of the wall mount battery, so much the better.

That is literally the EG4-12000 XP.

@@niffriguh no. That inverter has DC solar capability, generator input capability, etc. That is a huge overkill for a battery only scenario. What I am describing is a small inverter that only has DC battery and AC/Comms to the Gridboss connections. Take a look at the Anker SOLIX X1. Look at the top slice which houses the inverter connecting the batteries below and the external backup controller via AC. It’s about 8” tall - fits exactly on top of the batteries with no other connections other than comms.

I think the Gridboss is a clever bit of engineering. There's lots of value in it. Would love to see the Gridboss be able to work with the 12000XP and 6000XP inverters for folks who are off grid and have no intention of selling back to the grid. Should just require some firmware updates to make those off grid inverters work with the Gridboss. Those multiple smart ports on the gridboss are a game changer.

Since this unit has a 90 amp passthrough, if I had a 140 amp load, would the 90 amp grid passthrough and 50 amp inverter output combine to meet that demand?

No. Its max rating is 90 amps. That's where the GridBoss would come in.

If I recall correctly the CEO mentioned in an interview with solar KZbinr Adam, that while it was not published it was somewhere around 100 watts (and I believe both units together ~150)

You say that it can start a 5 ton AC unit is this real world test or lab test we hear a lot of talk on these hybrid inverter but when you recommend it to customers there is always problems
