38:02: "what he lends to them is the goods which he has not consumed" -> I'm having a hard time understanding this...?
@TLOK19182 жыл бұрын
Money corresponds to goods. The producer sells his goods in the market and receives money in return; he can use that money to buy the goods of other producers and consume them, or he can lend that money to other producers to earn interest. She is talking about the latter. "[The money] he lends them [corresponds to] the goods which he has not consumed."

@@TLOK1918 So, the idea is that the producer has sold good to others and made a profit, so the money represents goods that the producer sold to others and did not consume themselves...?
@TLOK19182 жыл бұрын
@@drstrangelove09 The money represents the goods he has produced and sold to others, yes - but, more importantly, it also represents his claim on the goods produced by others, which he chooses not to buy and consume at the time, since he trusts that he will be able to do it in the future, "when and as he needs them." Those unconsumed goods are the investment capital that fuel further production - the money representing them is merely the stand-in. It is this capital that government eats into when it inflates the money supply: the more inflation there is, the less one is able to afford with his savings - the difference is siphoned away to finance the government programs.

So many insights and there are so many warnings about things that have come to pass. I'm not sure that those at the top of ARI truly comprehend nor actually endorse the principles and insights that she is outlining here.

@@NotAnEconomistI specially see it continuously in storytelling like in films or tv shows, when a beloved art that enriches the individual, like say Superman or J.R.R. Token's work, the envy change it to be more "correct" and "in with the times", to make the established art be unrecognizable and corrupted. So in the name of this equality mindset, as well the exuses for "diversity" in classic stories, it's more dismantling and destroying the good and the values of good Art. In personal perspective, I don't want art to be corrupted by the cynical and irrational to art, so many storytelling now is made to be Politically correct, cynical and mediocre, in simple terms it end up having miserable and boring art. Seeing art in destructive means, honestly upsets me.

I'm wondering if the issues that she outlined for the Dow chemical plant in Chile are the sorts of things that lead up to the Bhopal disaster?

I was born in 1957. It seemed to me that the country was thriving and productive and on top of the world in the mid 60s but that since then industry has continually declined and been taken over by foreign entities. I watch yt videos where people look at tech from the 60s (such as Mr. Carlson's Lab) and the tech (such as HP) was very well done... now, not so much, IMO.

I agree with what she said about abortion. I wonder where she would draw the line though...? I think that the Supreme Court got in right in Roe v Wade.
