Are you wanting to to build a chicken coop and need some ideas for your build? Here is our egg Mobile chicken coop built on a utility trailer. With this egg Mobile design you can catch the rain water off of the top of the chicken coop so that you don’t have to haul water and you also can move it very easily with it being built on a trailer. You can also move this chicken coop around so that you can rotational graze your chickens. The other great thing about this mobile eggmobile chicken coop is that if you ever move to a new homestead then you can take your chicken coop with you. This truly is a chicken coop dream design. If you want to purchase the design plans for this chicken coop, the link is below #eggmobile #chickentractor #chickencooptour #chickencoopdesign #chickencoopideas #layinghens #homesteading #homestead #farmstead #mobilechickencoop #backyardchickens #chickens #raisingchickens #diychickencoop #chickencoop #chickencoops

We used some leftover linoleum to protect the walls. Easy clean with a garden hose when you wash down the bottom screen!❤

Great idea. A couple of questions: 1. How do you secure it for when storms/high winds hit? 2. Do you do anything to help with heat in the winter? A. For the chickens. B. For the water barrel.

I really like this idea for a mobile coop. 2 questions. What is the cost to build? Why is electric fence still needed?
@tannerfarmstead
@tannerfarmstead Жыл бұрын
Around $3K. The electric fence keeps them contained into a paddock. The coop just houses them at night

This looks good, some new stuff here, thanks for sharing. Im looking to build a 300 layer coop, so Im searching around for ideas. I agree with you that roosting them up relieves stress compared to floor roosts when mr foxy prowls around. I learned this hard way after mimicking JR. p.s. but I dont like the electric netting, I dont even use mine anymore 🙂

Hey Ted, I am just looking to get into electric netting. I'm only going to have about 20 layers on my 1 acre and move them around weekly. Why is it you are no longer using electric netting?
@tedbastwock3810
@tedbastwock3810 6 ай бұрын
@@RickStewart1776 Good question. The netting is a real pain in the neck to move. I wanted to love it. Idk how many I even have now, more than a dozen of all different sizes and configurations. With twenty hens in a yard type setting you might do well with it. Thats how I started. If you move it a little at a time rather than all at once it is easier, but you will need to do it more frequently. The main issue for me is that I have, unfortunately, found electric netting completely unsuitable for a pasture setting. In pasture it is difficult (time consuming, expensive) to keep the vegetation down off the netting for the majority of the year where I live. It might be different if you use herbicide, but Im not going to do that, it defeats the purpose and causes more harm than good. The fast growing veg will eat up the energizers. I have changed internal parts in multiple energizers multiple times bc they are not designed to handle what I gave them. I still have a small number of yard hens in netting, but I dont move them so I am not bothered by it, someone else is doing it. In my pasture with my larger flock I now simply let them go wherever they want (i.e. no netting around them), move their mobile coop around regularly, lock them up at night, and have a dog living with them. HTH, best luck

I have not. Had it in in their old coop as well. Works great. It does have to be 1 inch metal mesh for the manure to fall through

Just bought the plans! Curious how many chickens this can comfortably hold? I am on 5 acres in Florida for context. I’ll be picking up about 50 hens and 20 roosters from my uncle soon and would like to build this if it is applicable.

70 is absolutely max. I think 50-60 is a more comfortable number
