Thank you so much. I have just started Keto and found some of the ingredients for bread rolls a hideous price and it rather put me off the diet. That was a sad state of affairs, my sons virtually bulldozed me into this, and then found it way beyond our means. My husband is our sole source of income and is retired, so I virtually gave up having to balance it all. Both sons were furious that I gave up so easily and want me back on it. I need the diet for health reasons, to try and eliminate a lot of the medication I have to have. So I scoured the internet and found your wonderful trick. My heart felt thanks to you for sharing such a lovely tip❤

This is just simply fantastic! I don't have a lot of room in my freezer so I was delighted to defrost these and turn them into egg powder thanks to you! I was very concerned about these browning on the bottom, so I embellished a bit... Once I spread the egg whites out on the parchment I divided it evenly into squares without really separating the eggs on the sheet, but creating the ability to flip the egg whites one at a time once they started drying. Once I could see the top was fairly dry, and the bottom still somewhat damp, I noticed that the parchment was completely soggy. With the silicone spatula, I flipped flip each square onto a fresh parchment paper upside down and continued drying. One flip was sufficient. Result was ideal… Just like yours… And I use the top rack like you suggested so they didn't brown. Thank you so so so much.

Thank you for this great video! I have some boxed liquid egg whites left and will try your recipe! I wanted to buy egg white powder from Amazon, but despite the ridiculous price increase I am more concerned that ppl constantly review that their powder tastes fishy, doesn’t mix well, doesn’t get stiff peaks even after 45 min of mixing in a stand mixer… I believe companies are cutting corners and mix stuff in to get higher profits.

@HomesteadOntario For how long must it be in the oven on 170 degrees?
@HomesteadOntario10 күн бұрын
It depends on the thickness of your spread what I do is often if I have a thicker layer, I will turn on and off the oven. Wait a few hours sometimes leave it off overnight. Continue the next day to avoid burning, but ensuring that is completely dried out.

I find any heat I use to dry the meringue causes it to melt back to liquid even a food dehydrator
@HomesteadOntario4 ай бұрын
First whip to a hard peak! If you notice beads of liquid condensation forming on the surface of the meringue while it bakes, that's a sign that your oven temperature is too low. The solution: crank up the heat and shorten the cooking time. All ovens are different so trial and error
@marcgabel51654 ай бұрын
@@HomesteadOntario Thanks, Saw no beads. Do you have a oven temperature to set it to. I can alway set my oven with a thermometer.I was worried about browning it like your first attempt. I would like to get the separate whites to work because a quart is only eight bucks.

@HomesteadOntario4 ай бұрын
Not a scam i have nothing to gain. Are you using egg whites or whole egg? Should be whites only Same process as making meringue
@marcgabel51654 ай бұрын
I used a stand mixer on high for maybe 10 minutes. And I used pure egg white from a carton. It was just like meringue. And thick enough to stand up at the sides of the bowl. I would say thicker then normal meringue. Looked like styrofoamI set my oven on the lowest setting and put it on parchment paper on a baking sheet. My first try the paper was covered with liquid. Second try I turned my oven off so not as hot. Still liquid. Then I set on low convection with air blowing over. Next I tried my dehydrator on low. All with the same results. I let it dry on the racks themselves over night. From one quart of egg white I ended with maybe two tablespoons of powder. All I can see is the pure egg. White isn’t pure egg white. Can you do it with the carton of egg white?
@HomesteadOntario4 ай бұрын
Eggs from a carton are pasteurized, so I assume thats the problem I only use fresh eggs.
